A Classroom Full Of Color and Life
Funded Sep 12, 2020I can not thank you enough for your generous donation. Because of you, I have been able to give my students the gift of learning in color. My school does not provide printers, let alone color printers.
The color printer that I was able to get allows my students to see things in color. This allows for differentiation and modifications for certain children. Being able to print, both in black and white, and in color, allows me to give my students individual, hands on learning packets and study materials.
This project serves to all students, but especially to my special education students. They are able to have hands on materials that are specifically made to fit their needs. I love how I can make student choice boards for children with Autism. Seeing the choice board and the individual animations on the boards in color really excites them!
Thank you again for your generosity. You have a heart of gold and the students at PS143 appreciate you!!!”

Blended Learning While Following CDC Guidelines
Funded Aug 31, 2020I cannot begin to express my gratitude for everything you have done. Because of your donations, my students were able to successfully transition into the blended learning model.
When I first introduced the new materials, especially the neon book pouches and the personalized pencil case, the students were so excited. They loved the idea of having their own pouch and pencil case so they don't have to share their materials. Every morning, we have one student hand out the pouches, to avoid crowds in the classroom. All their supplies go inside the pouches and they bring it back and forth from school everyday.
The students love knowing we have extra masks in the classroom , incase one gets lost, misplaced, or broken. The student's love the math and ELA stations (socially distanced, of course).
The students and I are so thankful for your generosity. We couldn't have made this transition without you.”

Relaxing While Learning!
Funded Sep 5, 2018My students are so excited about the new resources!! They absolutely love the literacy learning stations, as well as the comfy bean bag chair! My students enjoy using the flexible seating option and usually take turns between that and the bean bag!
My students were so excited as I took the literacy learning stations out of the box! They have mastered all their ABC's because of the beginning letter, middle letter, and ending letter center! When the bean bag arrived, they couldn't believe it! They were so excited to place it in the library and read during "DEAR" time. My students use the bean bag as a calm down mechanism when they get upset. A lot of my students have Autism so they constantly need a place to "calm down". This was the perfect took.
My next steps for my students are to try and self sooth without using the bean bag chair. I want them to independently use the literacy stations and maybe hopefully we can incorporate technology into the next project.”

Funded Sep 9, 2013Thank you for your continued support and your generous donations for "Engage and Inspire Students with Disabilities". Since my project was funded, I have received the iPad and integrated it into my everyday classroom routines.
Having an iPad in the classroom has made a huge difference in the lives of my students. When I first integrated the iPad into the classroom, the students were beyond excited. They were asking all sorts of questions regarding how I received the iPad, and of course, I told the students that it was because of people like you that we received it. The students could not have been happier.
Having the iPad in the classroom has become part of our everyday structure. During our readers workshop period, the students break into "stations" based on their reading ability. The iPad is one of many stations that is in my classroom. ON the ipad, I have alphabet and number recognition games. I also have sight word games that my higher students can use.
The iPad is a great tool for differentiation. Not only can it meet the needs of many learners through the use of the apps, but it motivates my students to do their best learning.
I can not thank each one of you enough for your support and your generous donations. It is because of all of you that my students are being exposed to technology that they would not have otherwise been exposed to. Thank you”
