• We Have Problems Other Than Those in Our Math Books

• It's No Supplies, We Need to Restock!

  Thank you so much for your generous donations! It's a special feeling to know that people like you care and want to make a difference in the lives of children. But, it's an even better feeling to unbox everything and see the look on their faces! It's priceless.

  The pens, markers, and pencil boxes were a fan favorite! Everyone started calling out the color pen and markers they wanted to keep at their tables. They also immediately wanted to see how the protractor and compasses worked. Although they have not yet started their math unit in geometry, they were very excited to get a head start on using them.

  Restocking supplies such as highlighters, pencils, and pens can be expensive. Getting colorful pens and better-quality supplies can be even more expensive, so the help is greatly appreciated. Thank you again for making learning engaging!”

• Make a Statement Without Saying a Word

  When the club first started, we had to use cell phones. That is, until the administration said, "No cell phones during school hours." I thought, well...there goes the photography club! Then something amazing happened. The next day I got an email from Donors Choose telling me my project was funded. Were you reading my mind?

  Thank you so much for your generous donation. It was funded and arrived at the perfect time. The kids were so excited to touch an actual camera! It was a lot of fun figuring out the features together. They were really pumped! Since receiving the cameras, our club has become quite popular, which causes another problem...we need more cameras!! I will be putting up another project soon, but I just wanted to let you know that you did that. You instilled this interest and fascination for these kids with your generosity. It's really amazing to see their excitement. Again, a million thanks for your kindness!”

• Just Need the Basics

  You made a bunch of kids very happy. They not only love their new "smelly" markers, but they were so excited that they were able to use a mechanical pencil! So many of them had never used one before! The colorful pens were a wonderful way for students to experience the writing process. The tabs and highlighters also came in handy when putting together their writing folder. Everything just seems more exciting and engaging with a little color. Although we haven't had the opportunity to use the pastels and crayons, they are excited to start the new year with new supplies in August. Thank you for making this possible and for brining a little color into our lives.”

• When It Rains, We're Bored!

  First and foremost, thank you for your generosity. My students absolutely love these learning games. Fortunately, we've already had some rainy days to actually have the time to use them! There's nothing better than learning while having fun!

  My students were so excited when they saw all the awesome games that were donated! The older ones especially loved the "Jenga-style" math blocks. The little ones really enjoyed the folders. Although they were a little challenging, they had fun with them.

  These types of learning games are exactly what my students need to stay challenged and engaged. They are also perfect for independent work time, although we are still working on this. The next steps for my students is to gain confidence and build skills so that they can work in partners or independently. This will take lots of time and practice, but I have no doubt they will reach this point.

• The Simple Bare Necessities!

  These wonderful resources came in handy on the first day of school. The binders were the first to be used. I was shocked when almost all of my students did not know how to open the three rings in the binder. I was immediately grateful for the donations because at that moment, I didn't realize how little they had.

  The resources were brought out a little at a time. They were surprised and impressed with the binders. They loved the dry erase pockets and markers. They loved how they were able to pick a color other than black. I think the buzzers were a favorite. When having quizzes or discussions, they love pushing the buzzer instead of raising their hands.

  All the resources were so impactful especially at the beginning of the school year. Students were set up and ready to learn with all the resources they needed. The projector helped me reach them at a different level and helped some students see better. Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness! We appreciate it so much!”
