Interactive math notebooks are valuable tools that students use to document their learning and growth throughout the year. Students will use their notebooks on a daily basis to write down notes and questions during the lesson and practice using math skills to solve real-world problems. The notebook serves as a personalized reference material for students to access during math class and activities. Coloring pencils, post-it notes, and markers will be used to help personalize and transform information into illustrations and models that assist them to understand math concepts. The brown envelope will be used to store unfinished work such as foldables, anchor charts, and assignments that are not ready to be placed in the notebook. After the lesson, students will use their notebook as a reference to complete independent practice and group work in workstations. Students will store task cards, tools and vocabulary cards inside the library pocket to study at home, and during class. The primary goal of the interactive math notebook is to be a reflection tool for students to celebrate their growth and create plans for areas of improvement. I want the students to be able to pull out their notebook at the end of the year and look at their growth throughout the school year.
