  • Molding Great Writers!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

With the help of your generous donations, my students have grown a love for writing. With the year coming to a quick end, my students have shown a lot of progress in Writing and continue to improve each day. A big part of this came from the material you helped get donated.

When the material arrived at our school, we were home and learning virtual, but upon returning to the building, I was able to take everything out of the boxes and get my students motivated to focus on our writing skills.

The journals are almost filled as we use them weekly when writing. The students are excited to publish a book at the end of this month and I am excited to see and hear their enthusiasm.

    Thank you”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartnett

  • Cozy Up with a Good Book!

    Funded Jun 10, 2021

My students and I have been so busy this school year. We are utilizing all the resources in this project thanks to all of the donors. We gather around each day before dismissal and read a story chosen by the students. It's the best time of the day for some of my students. It's a moment to calm down and reflect on the day we just had prior to being dismissed to families and friends. The rug offers a peaceful and cozy area to be successful in doing this 20 minute read aloud each day. The book bins are also being put to use. Each child is assigned one book bin. They go shopping each week for books of their choice and are given time each day to quietly read to their self. Without your donations, none of these fond moments would be made possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartnett

  • You Can Find Magic Wherever You Look...in a Book!

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

There are not enough words or pictures that I can send you to thank you for the amazing donation you provided to my students. In this donation, I was able to get leveled libraries for my emergent readers. I was able to get a mobile cart in order to move the books around the room for each student to have access to. After being virtual for a year, many of my students have now fallen behind academically, specifically in the area of Reading. With your generous donations, I am now able to offer books that my students can actually read. Therefore, they feel successful and become eager to read more. Thank you so much for your help!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartnett

    Funded Jul 30, 2021

It is with great appreciation that I want to say thank you for the bottom of my heart! This last year has caused a lot of stress on teachers and children in our school. I hope the material in this project will help my students feel organized and ready to learn! Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartnett

  • Shaping Wonderful Writers for the Future!

    Funded Aug 27, 2019

Thank you for the donations to help get this project funded. There are many benefits I have seen from the materials in this project. My students have become more motivated to write, whether they are writing simple letters, their name, or even forming sight words. When my students first saw the materials, they were excited and eager to use them. We introduced each item slowly and encouraged the students to use the material in their own way. The magnetic letters came with letter boards. Some of my students use the letter boards to form the letters in the alphabet. While some of my higher level students, use the magnets to form words, such as: cat and bat. Overall, I have seen a huge improvement in writing and fine motor skills thanks to the donations from you all!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartnett

In today's society, many classrooms use computers and projectors to enhance learning for all age groups. As a preschool teacher, we set the foundation for further education. With the help of using a touch screen computer and a projector, my students will begin to build the foundation for the future of technology. For students who are nonverbal, using computers and larger visuals on the projector can further enhance educational experiences. The students can even express self using the touchscreen computer through games and resources. All of our lessons should include visuals for students who have ESL background. We have witnessed that by using visuals during a lesson, we can help expand the vocabulary of the students in our classroom.
