  • Super Supplies!

    Funded Sep 4, 2010

Thank you donors for your contribution. Having the additional resources in my classroom has been very useful. Let me tell you a little more about what we've been doing with the resources that you have provided.

First, we received dry erase markers and washable markers. We have been using the dry erase markers to write our number in written and expanded form. It's an easy way for me to check for student understanding. Our washable markers have been contributing to our community project. Last week the students created flags for their islands and laws. This week they will create maps.

These are just a few of the things. All of the supplies are being utilized by the students and are making learning fun and easy. Your support is truly appreciated. ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Parsh

  • School Supplies for Everyday Learning

    Funded Jan 2, 2010

I was so excited and surprised to see that my project was funded. The new materials have kept my students engaged in learning. I do my best to supply items that my students need. Their parents and the school does the same. However, sometimes there are still items that my students need on a daily basis to complete their. I very much appreciate your funding. Your support has given us the extra things that make a classroom run smoothly. Thank you so much for your contribution. Our classroom has been enriched by your support. My students are thrilled!”

  • Math Magicians!

    Funded May 12, 2009

It is my passion to teach children. I especially enjoy teaching math. I absolutely cannot thank you enough for your donations. We have been using all of the materials throughout the school year. When my students are finished with an assignment, they are able to read a math story. Sometimes I am able to use a math story as a read aloud for a certain skill. Also, my students have been going to math centers weekly and using the various center activities. They especially enjoy the Tangram Puzzles. It helps with their spatial reasoning skills, and it's fun. Lastly, I've just taught them a new game to practice their math facts using the dice. The foam dice are great for our classroom because they don't make any noise. We're in an open space school, and quiet is a necessity. Your generosity really does help make my students' education more interesting and fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Parsh

  • Technology with a Purpose

    Funded Apr 3, 2008

I was so excited and surprised to see that my project was funded. As we near the end of the school year, the students are antsy. The new materials will be a great way to keep them engaged as the year winds down. I very much appreciate your funding. People like you who demonstrate such a caring and humble character are what makes the world great. I cannot thank you enough for extending your kindness to me and my classroom. My students will be thrilled”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Parsh

Character education is as important as math and literacy. Maybe teaching character isn't on the agenda of administrators or included in the curriculum of the city, but it is absolutely essential for running a classroom smoothly. Moreover, having good character is essential for life. My 2nd grade students are young enough to embrace it all.
