Teachers Pay Teachers for Speech Therapy During Hybrid Learning
Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you so much for your contribution to help my students. Currently we are back in person following Covid-19 safety guidelines including social distancing, limiting students in different areas on campus and in classrooms, and weekly Covid-19 testing.
With your donations, I have purchased digital materials from Teachers Pay Teachers including language engaging activities that I project on a projector in the classrooms I visit, to implement speech therapy. Because of your contributions, I am providing speech therapy in classrooms while following safety guidelines with fun and engaging materials for the students. I cannot express enough the appreciation I feel. I will continue to purchase additional digital activities to use in person with the students. If schools shut down for in person because of Covid-19 cases, I will be able to use these materials online with my students.
Thank you again for your help and support!”

Funded May 11, 2021Thank you so much for your contributions to this project to help me provide speech and language services to my students during hybrid learning. Due to the distancing protocols in person, the projector has allowed my students to continue using engaging online materials such as Boom Cards and creative PowerPoints from a safe distance. They are having so much fun using it and think of it as a "movie experience!" The projector bag allows me to use this projector at the five schools I provide speech and language services to. Lastly, the amplifier has been amazing! My students have no difficulties hearing me from afar anymore with the amplifier.
Again, thank you for helping my students enjoy speech therapy from a safe distance to meet their speech and language goals!”

Funded Oct 17, 2020Words cannot explain the gratitude I have. Having the laptop stand, usb extender, and wireless keyboard and mouse make such a difference during distance learning. Due to being on screen for 6-8 hours a day, my eyes are always strained and headaches/migraines have been my new normal. With this equipment I am able to stay further away from the screen while still working, attending IEP meetings, and providing speech therapy to my students while keeping my eyes less strained. In turn, I have been able to maintain energy to see all of my students, who have definitely noticed a difference since using this equipment. Lastly, the portable folder is keeping me organize all of my paperwork.
Thank you so much!”

Speech and Language Support for Distance Learning
Funded May 21, 2020Since receiving the iPad and stylus pen, I have generated speech and language resources to support my students during distance learning. I recorded myself and made videos for my students to practice their articulation and language skills. Using the stylus pen has made making videos easier. My students have been able to access the speech and language quizzes I generated via Google Forms. I emailed my students online worksheets and provided their parents online resources to support their children's speech and language needs at home. In addition to email, I downloaded a variety of apps to help maintain communication with my students and their families, including Class Dojo, BAND, Zoom, and Google Voice. Also, speech and language applications have been downloaded to help my students learn and practice when we get to be together when schools reopen.
The most exciting thing about the iPad for my students are the videos I made during distance learning. To capture their attention, I made myself into a cartoon via an Animoji. The parents have sent video replies of their students laughing and participating along to my videos. I know when schools reopen, my students are going to have fun practicing their speech and language skills by using the various apps. They will also be able to practice social skills with the iPad by demonstrating turn taking skills and making verbal requests with their peers.
Lastly, my students with attention challenges have demonstrated increase engagement since I began recording videos with the iPad. They have been so engaged that they request to watch the videos repeatedly. Meaning, they are continuing to practice their speech and language skills to make gains. I am very proud of all of my students.”

Funded Sep 6, 2013When I first took the iPad out of my bag, my students' eyes lit up and their smiles stretched from ear to ear. They quickly asked what kind of games we were going to play, and of course they were speech games! They wanted to start speech therapy immediately and did not want their speech session to end.
Since receiving this gift, my students have been using the iPad as a source of motivation and a tool to speak better. They work even harder to do their best in speech therapy. From saying certain speech sounds correctly to using full and complete sentences, they are doing it all. My students have used pictures and online story books to retell stories clearly and correctly. My students' social skills have also improved; they take turns with the iPad, teach each other how to use it, and ask each other politely to use it. I personally have been able to log in my students' speech and language progress through various speech apps.
Overall, this project has brought my teaching of speech and language skills and my students' learning to whole new levels. The iPad itself is a source of creative motivation. My students are even more engaged and eager to begin and behave throughout therapy sessions. In result, my students' speech and language skills have improved. This positive trend has made my speech therapy a complete success. This success would have not been possible without your contributions. For that, my students and I are truly humbled, grateful, and thankful. Thank you so much again for helping my students meet their speech and language needs. They are smiling nonstop throughout my speech therapy sessions because of you.”
