I am a Speech Language Pathologist working with many severely impaired language students. The students I provide direct speech and language services to vary in age from 3 years to 12 years old, as do their disabilities (autism, down syndrome, brain trauma). My school district consistently faces massive budget cuts. Our school serves children who are of low-socioeconomic status with 68% free and reduced lunch. We have a 35% non-speaking English population in our school community.
