We are a large public high school with 1400+ students (62% White, 35% Black and about 1% each of Hispanic, Asian, and Native American.) 15.5% of the families in our district fall below the poverty level and the median household annual income is $49,262. In my opinion, the oil and gas industry drives our economy and we are preparing our students for college, careers and industry-based certifications. As such, we need the right books to fuel their inquiring minds.
