I teach an energetic and inquisitive group of South Bronx middle school students. 100% of my students qualify to receive free or reduced lunch. Moreover, the South Bronx consistently ranks as one of the poorest congressional districts in the United States with 49% of residents falling below the poverty level. Our school services several nearby housing projects and shelters. However, despite economic disadvantages and varied academic starting points, my students are resilient and bright. They deserve the very best education that I can possible provide.
