  • Minimizing Noise Level

    Funded Jan 7, 2022

The classroom has run a bit more smother now that we have added the tennis balls to the chairs. When the students move around in the chairs there is no noise coming from the movement. They all enjoy moving their chairs to any place in the classroom with such ease. I really appreciate the help and how it has impacted our students. Thank you for the opportunity to help my students be successful in the classroom. The padding in the chairs has also helped us sit comfortably and enjoy our chair. Thank you again.”

  • Going Back to Reality

    Funded May 24, 2021

It has been a transition coming back to school, and utilizing the items I received has saved me. Our students have had a hard time adjusting to staying in school all day rather than virtual teaching and its been a struggle. They need tons of visual schedules and constant reminders to go thru the day. They will eventually get there, but meanwhile we continue with visuals to make the transition easy. I am grateful for the donation you have provided and look forward to continue to help my student transition.”

  • Supplies for Safety

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

My students are using the new Binders and dividers at school and at home. We divided each binder by subject with having a daily schedule from Monday to Friday in it. The students have enjoyed being organized and now know what they need to finish for the day. They also know that once they finish with assignments they will be either be picked up or delivered to the school. This has made our lives easier to add assignments and easier for the students to utilize. I can not thank you enough for the opportunity to make things easier for my Life skills students.”

  • Ink for Colorful Visuals

    Funded Dec 14, 2019

I appreciate all donations given to my classroom to make it a successful year. I try to teach independence to my 1st and 2nd graders, and colorful labels just made them much easier to find things. I was able to label the classroom with colorful labels for easy access for the students. They were able to independently find their assignments on their own, and as they finished an assignment they were also able to locate the finish box. Thank you so much for the ink, the students and staff really appreciate all you do for us.”

  • Teach Me How To Share and Take Turns.

    Funded May 13, 2019

Our students have learn so much in taking turns, this game has not only made a difference, but has helped improve student interaction. Our students are severe to non- severe students and have been able to prove that they can learn from other students good behaviors. Working together has improved behaviors and they all look forward to Fridays, when they get a chance to take turns. I want to thank you for the support and encouragement I get when I place orders thru Donors Choose. This would not be possible with our you.”

  • Utilizing Hard Stock for daily schedule and routines.

    Funded Sep 7, 2018

My students where not only able to have daily schedules with them but also were able to have their own booklets on personal information and calendar activities. They all have not only learned how to spell their name, but learn their school name, parents name, phone numbers and addresses. Even though, my students do regress, these booklets are for them to take home and share with their families. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for you kind donations and for helping my class with this very important task. I wouldn't have been able to provide them this without your help, since I already provide them with so much more. Thank you so much and looking forward to continue in working with you.”

  • Life Skills Class

    Funded Sep 13, 2013

I'd like to express my gratitude for the Kinect device that was donated to our Lifeskill's class. One of our students has really enjoyed the device so much, that he has now advanced to dancing, something he did not appreciate before. The advancement in a students education as well as their experience with new devices is something that we look forward to because it shows the hard work and ability of that student. I'd like to thank you for your support and will gladly post a picture of our students. There are not enough words to express our appreciation for the donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gonzalez

Our students are in a Special Education classroom called Life Skills. We teach hands on activities and teach them living skills. Some students are able to do most of the work without a one to one assistance and others need all the help they can get. We have severely and profound students who are capable of only working on listening skills and touch toys. Our students are very special and most of them comprehend what they see.
