  • Sounding Out Loud

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

First, let me start off by thanking you for believing in and being a major contributor to my students educational journey.

While my students are at the word decoding level in their reading,

they are able to utilize these resources to not only increase their reading but increase their engagement, confidence, and desire to want to participate in classroom instruction. Students are taking ownership in their own learning as they reference individual sound walls and manipulate letter tiles while building and decoding words.”

    With gratitude,

  • Are You Ready?

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

First, let me start by saying thank you for your donation. Incorporating a visual timer within my classroom has made a tremendous impact on my students. They are now self-monitoring academic tasks independently. They have become active learners with more engagement, displayed initiation to begin assignments, and increased in work production. It also created a more structured environment with less anticipation of how much time is left and allowed for smoother transitions between group instruction.

With this visual timer, my students have thrived in work habits; specifically with time on task.”

  • Let's Read

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

I would like to thank you for donating and supporting my students' literacy skills.

Incorporating "Secret Stories" posters and flash cards within the curriculum has made a significant impact on student learning and engagement. They have become more involved during instruction as they are eager to learn new phonics patterns and want to read. As they say, "We are Reading Detectives." Not only are they asking to read, they are retaining, and transferring these skills into other subject areas. This is the ultimate goal. GREAT SUCCESS!!! THANK YOU!!!”

  • I Read it....Now What??

    Funded Jun 3, 2019

Thank you for donating to this project. Your contribution has made a major impact on the resources needed for the classroom and my students. With these items, I am able to assess and determine the comprehension levels of each student. I am also able to provide them access to passages on their individual needs. This book exposes them to a variety of nonfiction topics that are of high interest. Due to this component, they are becoming more interested and involved within the content. By having texts that are appropriate to their reading levels, they are now able to utilize a variety of strategies to answer questions based on passages. Now they are reading for enjoyment and comprehending what was read. Thank you!!”

  • I Want to See

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

Thank you for donating to this project. Your contribution has made a major impact on the resources needed for the classroom and my students. Throughout the day my students come to me for reading instruction. In order to meet the different levels that each may have, groups are incorporated in the classroom routine. As one would know having three groups happening at the same time, can get a little hectic and loud. Due to this, my students were having difficulty focusing on teacher instruction. Your donation contributed to the success of my students. By having these items present within the classroom: privacy partitions and a room divider, has allowed my students to focus, stay on task, and receive instruction at the best of their ability. They are now learning content as well retaining what was presented. Thank you!!!”

  • Reading for Success!

    Funded Dec 27, 2018

First, I will like to thank you all for donating to this project. You are making a difference in all of my student's education. With your contribution my students were able to gain access to a great reading based program that allows for independent reading. Working in a special education classroom that contain many disabilities and levels, this program allows me to pinpoint individual reading levels by assigning books and activities that coincide with each other.

My students are always excited to get onto the program. Not only is it engaging to them but it has increased their confidence by being able to read books independently and having a vast amount of high interest topics that they can choose from. By having access to various levels beyond their own they are also giving the option to listen and follow along with a read aloud through the computer.

Just within this short amount of time, I have seen a tremendous impact on my students. They have developed the joy of reading, they are generalizing and transferring information they have learned into other subjects, and have become engaged in the learning process. Thank you for this.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • "What's Next?"

    Funded Oct 3, 2014

First, let me start off by saying thank you for donating to my classroom. These items purchased (velcro, magnets, timer, and DVD burner) have made a significant difference in my students' daily routines. They know what to expect with the easy removable posted schedule, they know how much time is left as it is displayed on the timer on the whiteboard, and have taken home cd's with soft music to listen to. With this, my students have developed more independence where they are able to effectively transition better and take ownership of their own learning environment.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Can iWrite?

    Funded Sep 13, 2014

First, let me start off by thanking you all for donating to my classroom. My students have so many great ideas to share as they write in their daily journal and compose paragraphs. Many enjoy sharing their writing piece with others once they are complete. By having the ipad, my students were able to create wonderful stories as they utilized the internet in order to find illustrations to add more life and details to their compositions. They are now at the point where they are excited to narrate their story in their voice and capture live picture shots. By having this tool, my students have become more excited to write.

Thank you for this, thank you extending the door of creativity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews
