Different Strokes for Different Folks: Meeting the Challenge of Differentiation
Funded Dec 1, 2020We are so incredibly thankful for your generosity. Our class has received so many visual and hands on manipulatives to help students stay engaged and motivated to learn each day. Despite all of the challenges we have faced during this last year, each day my students come into the classroom, enthusiastic and eager to learn new things. Your generous donations have helped make this transition to remote learning slightly easier. My students are now fortunate to have their own math tool kits and art materials for use in school AND at home.
Every so often when our "Compliment Jar" becomes full, students earn a reward or fun art project activity. They absolutely LOVED the Lakeshore People Making kit. These little first graders loved choosing an outfit for their character, as well as adding decorations for the face, hair and clothing. We don't get to do things like this very often, so this art project was a special treat! We are all very pleased to have this and many other new school supplies to use each day.
I'm pleased to share that my students have grown so much academically. These generous donations have helped me increase student motivation, in addition to fostering a class community which embraces creativity, individuality and a love of learning. Thank you again. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.”
With gratitude,

Funded Dec 15, 2009Thank you so much for all that you've contributed to our classroom. My students have begun using the materials and are enjoying them tremendously. Our new dictionaries and writing folders have helped my students expand their vocabularies, both written and verbally. In our class, using big words has become quite cool. I've already noticed an improvement in their writing abilities. They have started to replace overused words with more sophisticated words. This has resulted in a higher level of confidence and enthusiasm during writing activities.
The students are also using and enjoying various center activities that were purchased with donated funds. These activities enable students to develop practice working independently or in a small group. The kids like doing them. They are also aligned with state standards, which will help them prepare for their upcoming tests, while having fun working with a partner or in a group.
I can't thank you enough for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Please know that my students and I are very appreciative. I hope it fills your hearts with joy to know that you've truly made an impact on all of us.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Vandemark
