The Future Needs You!
Funded Feb 6, 2015I would like to thank you all again for your generous donations.
When my students saw the new tablets, they were ecstatic. Each day they look forward to "technology time". They really enjoy all of the games and educational games and stories that are offered on their tablets. They love them so much, that they even choose to play with them during our "free centers" time.
The tablets are used mainly during our transition periods to make the transition easier for the students. I have also been able to use the tablets as an incentive for appropriate behavior. Despite the vast difference of ability levels in the classroom, EVERY child knows how to use the tablets (they seem to know more about technology than most adults).
The tablets boost our learning by providing educational games for them to play, but also by helping students to engage in appropriate behavior in the classroom, such as sitting in their seat or following directions.
Again, thank you so much! Me and my students are very grateful for your kind hearts.”
With gratitude,
Ms. West

Funded Oct 11, 2013The entire special education department appreciates your generous donation that allowed us to receive a printer. We were very excited to get a curriculum specific to special education for the first time ever, but taken aback when we found out the entire curriculum was online only. As you may know, students with disabilities need to learn through different methods. By providing us with this printer, we are not only able to print all of our lessons, but also all of the manipulatives, stories, and all other supplemental materials our students may need. Our students faces light up when they walk into the classroom and see a new activity to complete. We are so happy that we have such a FUN curriculum specific to them that we are now able to provide for them.
Like I mentioned, we are using the printer to print all of our lessons, including manipulatives, stores, and all other supplemental materials. Each month has a new theme and can be up to 300 pages per teacher to print. The students learn largely through being able to manipulate objects and pictures. We have all seen considerable gains in our students using our new curriculum's materials.
Receiving a printer to print our new curriculum has provided us a way to print everything we need to ensure our students' success and make progress on their individual goals. We, teachers and students alike, are grateful that you made such a generous donation to impact our classrooms.
Happy holidays and happy new year to all!”
With gratitude,
Ms. West
