Keep Our Students Safe!
Funded Sep 17, 2020I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart to help fund this project!!!
The resources through this project have served multi purpose for my students. For instance, the gel pens that can be erased has been in high demand among my students for choice time. Some of them request to take it home to participate during remote classes.
The woven baskets have been great in keeping their sanitary materials clean and within view so it is easily accessible for all. Additionally, the dry erase makers with the eraser tops have been beneficial to all the students. They practice their vocabulary words during reading and writing classes and also use it during choice time to draw their favorite characters like Thomas the train!!!
Thank you all for making this year a bit more fun and less stressful for my students.”

Funded Oct 1, 2020I thank you for supporting my project to provide the basic needs to my students and also to make choice time attainable.
My students love playing with Thomas the Train mini trains and have been following the rules and routines in the class quite frequently. That is a rather big accomplishment for me!!!!
They have also been enjoying using the erasable pens to measure objects in our class as we are learning about units of measurement. The engagement in the math class has been breath-taking!!!!
Lastly, I thank you for the supplies. My students frequently use post-its to write their thoughts during ELA instruction and they enjoy being able to post them on the chart paper.”

Funded May 17, 2020Thank you so much for returning to school a somewhat familiar experience for my students by providing the basic needs for each of them.
They enjoy the fact that they have their individual organizers with their supplies that helps them stay safe and "free of germs" as they keep telling me.
Additionally, it has also helped my students become more responsible by sanitizing their belongings, making sure the lids to their baskets are closed and they keep their supplies in the little mesh bags.
Thank you all for your thoughts and donations to make it a success for my students.
Have a healthy and joyful holiday season!”

Funded May 6, 2020Your donations to help provide my students with math materials have been paramount.
During the most challenging times, they were able to continue to experience hands on activities to increase attention and engagement among students. Two of my students have managed to and now can identify greater than and less than concepts for double digit numbers, which is very challenging for students with disability. This has been made possible because of your compassion during this uncertain time.
Additionally, students that were struggling with the concept of single digit addition and subtraction have now been able to solve single digit problems using the hands on board. Additionally, play dough continues to serve as a very positive and engaging re-enforcement for all of my students. They ask for it as part of their choice time activity.
I am forever grateful to each and everyone of you that contributed to this project to make it a success!!!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018I would like to thank everyone that contributed to this project and made it a success. As you will notice in the pictures, my students have been utilizing the sensory materials to cope with loud noise, handle stress and anxiety possibly cause by transitioning.
I have noticed a reduction in disruptive behaviors, and I actually have a student who requests to use the noise blocking headphones when it gets too noisy.
The weighted vest and compression vest have been super helpful when two of my students feel tired and get very anxious and want to stem. I let them use the vests to help them calm and transition back into the class.
The weighted lap magic has been phenomenal. One of my student's use it on daily basis during math as it to keep his hand engaged as he learns new concepts.
The fidgets have been a delight as well as all my students request them during different instruction time to keep them engaged while they are expected to learn new concepts.
Thanks again for your continued support to help dedicated teachers help reach every student possible!”

Funded Oct 17, 2017I would like to thank you all for contributing to the success in my classroom.
As you will notice in the pictures i have uploaded, my students are functionally utilizing the furnitures. The table has been a blessing because i group two of students who cannot tolerate sitting with other students and they get to work on their goals at their pace. I have two students who constantly drop themselves to the floor but being able to provide them with the option of floor seating, i have seen more attention to task and an increase in appropriate seating behavior.
Two of my intermediate functioning students love practicing on the white board during grouping, which was not an option in my classroom before. It was hard to motivate them to write, particularly one of them who struggles with fine motor skills.
The two seater has been a great additon for reading time and when students take a test which is on weekly basis to assess their skill levels. It is in the classroom but away from others so students can focus without disruption. I have a student who rocks back and forth which was affecting her concentration during lessons. However, now she appropriately requests to sit on the wobbly chair. The beanbags have been great to calm one of my female students who enjoys being held. The beanbag is big enough to provide her support in any form she sits to keep her calm.
Every piece has added to a positive behavior in my class and thus has improved student engagement.
My next goal is the second part of this project which is to get two more tables to create sensory station for my students during each lesson. The project will also have sensroy toys, fudgets, weighted vests, pressure vests and other sensory strategies to meet their sensory needs to either keep them calm or to help engage them during a lesson. I will be posting .y sensory based”

Funded Mar 1, 2013I want to express my appreciation for your generosity in support of our project. Your personal commitment was incredibly helpful and allowed us to reach our goal to help students express their ideas, suggestions, ask and respond to questions via puppetry. My students and I were all tremendously excited!
I collaborated with the speech therapist and we organized a puppet theater where students participated in asking and responding to comprehension questions about the puppets. They were all fascinated with the puppets and the puppet theater. This allowed even the most bashful student to express their ideas, opinions, ask and respond to questions using the puppets with visual and gestural supports. The students attended to different stories about animals and their habitat.
You will see in the pictures the students sitting on the rug and each student taking turn choosing a puppet. The students engaged in asking questions from peers pertaining to the chosen puppet. We have been able to turn the class into a more engaging place, where the students get their hands on some interesting puppets and express themselves. This has certainly increased the students interest and thus increased their understanding.
In addition to puppet theater, the students have enjoyed sitting on the interactive rug to attend to morning circle routines of singing, sequencing, learning about weather, months, days of the week, and seasons. They sit on the rug and trace the letters using their fingers and identify the color for each letter on the rug. It has been a great pleasure to see my students with limited receptive and expressive language engage with each others and initiate learning every morning.
Your support was the icebreaker needed to increase receptive and expressive engagement amongst the students. I have already planned lessons for the upcoming weeks to continue using all the materials in a fun and exciting manner to fuel the students learning, understanding and thus overall success and achievement.
I want to thank you again for funding the puppet theater project. I could not have done this without your support.”
