M first graders switch classes often and are almost all ELL's, so we do a lot of partner talking throughout the day. This rug will allow for my students, and students that come in and out of my room, to have flexible partners during all times of the day and stay in their own personal space. Its especially important that my students are allowed to talk and listen to each other to be able to practice their English skills. This rug will allow them to not only have one partner but quickly choose other partners and be able to hear and speak with other students of different abilities, which will greatly improve their language skills.
