My students are 6 year old children in love with school. They attend school in a poverty stricken neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. 80% of my students are not just learning how to read but they are also learning English as their second language. Approximately half of the students enrolled in the classroom are students with disabilities. School is a time where my students are eager to experience new things, hear new stories, read on their own, and play with their friends.
