As an elementary art teacher I have a large range of students in age. My students grow up with me as there art teacher and learn the importance of what it means to work with your hands and create work that they can be very proud of.
In my classroom, students look forward to creating artwork they can keep for years to come or give to there parents with a smile on their face. Together we discuss various artists and materials that we use through out the year to create artwork each student can be very proud of.
Being a STEM school of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, I strive to use these 4 parts in every project I teach. From discussing where clay and glaze comes from using technology to incorporating engineering and mathematics to form each ceramic project STEM is without question very much a part of any ceramic project.
