My school has about 300 students. As the general music teacher, I teach all 300 students twice a week. I teach them for five consecutive years, from the time they start attending the school until the time they graduate and go on to middle school. My instruments get a ton of use each year! Many of our students do not have money to purchase or rent instruments so they are unable to participate in our band and strings program. I try my best to use instruments as much as possible so the students who are unable to participate in the band and strings program are able to feel proud that they get to play an instrument during the general music class.
