This is my first year teaching and I teach 1st grade in Arizona. My students are funny, hardworking, and sweet! My students would appreciate it so much if they could have a carpet that they could all fit on. Right now we have a very small rug and half of them don't fit. Having a space for each student to sit on every time they come to to carpet to learn would be wonderful. My students are still learning to focus on while at the carpet when I am teaching. If they didn't have to worry about if someone was in their exact spot each time, they would be able to have that focus. 60% of the students at my school are out of district, but choose our school because of the great staff and administration. Even though we are a public school and get funding, there just isn't enough to get a carpet. When I started at this school there were not extra carpets that were available for me to use. I purchased a small rug, but its starting to show that it is not going to work the entire school year.
