My students are amazingly creative journalists. They range in grade from freshman to senior, and they are enrolled in a public high school in a Montana town of about 65,000. The students in this program work extremely hard to cover the news, and they work hard to raise money to buy new equipment that the district cannot afford. Much of their time is spent raising the funds to keep the program successful, and they have won numerous statewide and national awards as a result of their perseverance and determination.
