  • A Place for Everything!

    Funded Feb 12, 2015

I wanted to thank you for the amazing cart you have helped my little ones have in our classroom. Your help has given my little first graders a place for each of their skill games, from literacy to math to science!

When the cart arrived, we put it together. We worked as a team to build it. This was so much fun watching them figure out how to build it. Hence, the lesson of following directions came in very handy!! Then, they worked in teams to sort the games, and organize the games. They picked the color of each drawer for each skill. Now they love having the cart, they know where each skill is when they need to work on it.

Thank you for giving my little ones a place to store all their materials. You have made it so much easier for them to grab the skills they need, and the games they want to play.

Thank you for supporting education today, tomorrow and always! You are truly all amazing!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

  • Addition Help Needed!

    Funded Dec 3, 2014

Words could never express my joy and gratitude for the amazing gift you have given my little ones. Your gift of our math games have brought excitement, fun, and a little competition to our class! It is truly an amazing joy to see my little first graders this excited over math!

The Beat the Clock game has been a HUGE success! My little ones can not wait to work on this station everyday. They love to compete with themselves mostly, but do enjoy the occasional challenge of a friend. They write their times up on the board, (they created one) and challenge each other, and try to beat their own everyday. Its such a joy to hear, "Mrs. Smyth, I am going for one minute today."

The word problem center has helped my little ones become more fluent in our steps to solve, and also in feeling more confident as math problem solvers.

I can never thank you enough for the amazing gift to my little ones. Thank you for bringing joy, laughter and fun into our math class! My little ones are growing because of you!

Thank you so much for supporting learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

    Funded Jun 12, 2014

I am so grateful for your amazing support! You have brought so much joy, fun, excitement, and smiles into our classroom. These moments in our room have really been priceless for me. I am hopeful that I can share some of this with you in our pictures.

The dry erase pockets, markers, and erasers have surly been the most favored in our class. My little first graders love using them! They get so excited. The best part is that they stay so motivated in the lesson, and on task for their activities they are learning so much more. Its almost March, and still if I say take out the pockets they jump for excitement. They run to the rug so eager to get the lesson started. I truly love this! Thank you for giving my little ones this joy and excitement for learning.

My gratitude could never really be expressed through words enough. Thank you so much for your support!

Thank you for all the wonderful and amazing school supplies. The paper has turned our little words into books! Wow! We have created and illustrated stories. It has truly been inspiring. My little ones can make the connection between reading and writing. Again, for this I could never thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

  • Back-To-School Supplies, Please!

    Funded Aug 4, 2014

Thank you so much for all the amazing school supplies! Because of you my students have had materials all year!! What an amazing feeling for my little ones to have. They have used the notebooks for reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. We have created interactive notebooks since they all have glue and crayons. They get to create projects in their notebooks targeting specific skills. They really love creating these. This year you have made these fun activities possible with your amazing supply of notebooks, scissors, glue, and crayons. I love that all my students feel good about themselves because they have the supplies they need. I really love that they all have the same thing, this really enforces their self esteem, because no one is comparing themselves.

Thank you so much for your amazing support. Thank you for believing in my little first graders! You have truly provided my little ones with more than just supplies. You have given us smiles, and confidence. For this I could never repay you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

  • First Graders Want Technology!

    Funded Aug 4, 2014

We want to thank you so much for your AMAZING generosity! You have touched my little ones hearts and helped them expand their learning.

The computer you have provided my little ones has helped moved mountains in our classroom. In the beginning of the year, we had so many English Language Leaners that struggled as readers. With the computer you have provided us, my little ones are now reading! They have used it to play letter sound games. It has been so much more fun to learn on the computer where they can see and hear images and see things with the sound that they are learning. Thank you for this!

I wanted to share the largest impact has been on one little student in my room. A student who entered feeling alone, and socially withdrawn. The use of the computer has opened new windows for her. At first it was where she learned her letters and sounds. as time passed, she invited friends to help her learn sounds. Today, just a few months later, she is reading out loud. She helps her friends. And she talks all day long!

Nothing I can type in this letter will ever explain the impact you have had in my classroom, on my students, and in one little girl's life. Thank you! From my heart....thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

  • Growing Writers

    Funded Jul 31, 2014

I do not know how to begin to thank you for your amazing support to our classroom. The writing materials you have provided my students has made a HUGE! impact in our learning. When the materials arrived my students were so happy!

My little learners that struggle with printing were extremely excited to practice printing words. They really love going to this center daily, and it shows! My students have grown so much in printing and letter formation. They can write on lines now! Thank you so much!

My higher level students love the sequence tiles. They love putting them in order and then, writing 'non-fiction' "paragraphs" to describe what they just learned. This is a popular center for them. I love that because of this center, my students naturally are using transitional words.

Thank you for your amazing support! The resources you have provided my little learners have prove to support my students in learning as well as raising their self esteem. Thank you so much! You have truly provided us with an amazing gift! I will always be truly grateful for your amazing generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

  • Time After Time

    Funded Jun 17, 2014

Words could never express my gratitude for the amazing gift you have provided my little learners. My little first graders were so excited when the box arrived and we opened it together. They clapped as each game came out of the box. I love their excitement. Because of you my little ones are telling time like super learners! They are in love with the hot dots! When they make a mistake they can just self correct with the pen. This they love! The puzzles are a hot center as well. I love that my students are so motivated to learn and to tell time. It is such an amazing experience to teach my students and have hands on materials to help them learn. It has truly increased learning in our classroom, now that they can see time and manipulate it. Thank you so much for this amazing gift to my little learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

  • I Want To Read!

    Funded Jul 23, 2014

I wish I could send you a huge hug wrapped up with this letter! You have made such an amazing impact on our reading! My students have found a love for all the materials and games you have sent us. Because of you, my little first graders, are in love with reading! Not only with reading but with hearing themselves read. They are all determined to read faster with fluency. They love to hear themselves. They also love the magnet letters. Something so small, has made a huge impact this year, I can see how much better my first graders are at spelling. They spell all of their sight words every day. I love seeing the growth in them. Thank you so much for your amazing gift of learning, and for making learning fun in our classroom. My heart is full of gratitude for your amazing gift to my little firsties. Thank you for supporting us!”

  • Headsets Needed

    Funded Aug 4, 2014

Words could not begin to express my gratitude for your gift to our classroom. Because of your help, my students are able to work in centers on the computers with a new focus on their own work. Before, my first graders were so distracted by each others games on the computer, they could not focus on their learning. Now, with our new gifted head sets, my little ones can focus, and they are not distracted by others. You have made a huge impact on learning in our classroom, for this I could never thank you enough. I can see my students' learning increasing! Thank you for supporting our classroom, and for supporting education!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth

  • Help Me Learn My Sounds

    Funded Dec 21, 2013

I want to start by saying thank you! Your amazing gift to our classroom has made a huge impact in all my students, but mostly in my autistic and English Language Learners. The children were so excited when they arrived they couldn't wait to get started using them. They became a favorite of all kids really fast.

My Autistic student has benefit from the games in a huge way! He now enjoys working with a partner while playing. It has taken so many different tasks for me to find a way to have him interact a little with his peers. The computer games have opened that door for him. Not only is his reading increasing, but his social interaction has sky rocked! He now enjoys challenging his classmates. I hear him laughing and cheering. It is truly a wonderful thing. Thank you for this!

Second, my English Language Learners have made huge growth in letter recognition and blending while playing the games. One of my kids says they always remember the robots when they think of the sounds. Exactly what I want to hear!!! They love going into this center, because of the level in the games, my lower students as well as my ESOL students are feeling more successful because they can complete the task.

I love that every where I turn, they are reading the new sounds because they love to practice them! Thank you so much for making such an amazing impact in our classroom and in the lives of my little first graders. I wish I could take a video and show you my kids, and let you hear and see the amazing growth and impact your help has had on my little firsties!!!!

Lastly, I want to thank you for your amazing support not only of my little ones, but of education! I am truly blessed to have your amazing help in our classroom. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smyth
