Make Learning Colorful and Engaging!
Funded Oct 30, 2023Thank you so much for funding my colored printer! Since receiving it, I have printed many math and literacy centers, which I laminated. These centers make learning more fun and engaging. This impacts my students learning in a very positive way.
Everyday we do small group literacy centers and the students have been getting tired of the same centers, it's so great to have a colored printer for the classroom to create new centers for learning.
I have also used the colored printer to print colored anchor charts for students, as well as student tools to use during writing, such as personal word walls.”

Funded Sep 6, 2023Thank you SO MUCH for funding my laminator! I literally keep it next to my desk and use it all of the time! So far I've used it to laminate some student work so that my kindergarten families will have some projects they can save forever! (It's amazing when you get older and find these items in a closet somewhere, years down the road.) I've also used it to laminate many literacy and math centers, that I've created for student use in the classroom, and I've laminated name cards for desks, new calendar pieces I bought for morning meeting.
The laminator is something every teacher needs in the classroom. It keeps student work and classroom materials preserved. Before having the laminator, when I made centers, I'd have to remake it over and over again because pieced would get ripped or crumbled. Now I can create resources and use them year after year.
Thank you again!”

Mac to Develop Interactive Lessons!
Funded Sep 29, 2022I can't thank you enough for your generous donation to my project! Since receiving my Mac, I have been able to create interactive lessons for my students. For example, when learning new letters and letter sounds, I have created lessons in Google Slides with pictures and letters, that students are able to move on the SmartBoard with their fingers, matching the pictures to the beginning letter sound. I am also able to pull up videos for brain breaks throughout the day.
The Mac has made my lessons come to life, and the students love it!
Thank you so much!”

Funded Jun 14, 2022Thank you so much for donating to my project, "Celebrating Diversity Through Projects". So far this year we have used these materials to create projects. In the very beginning of the school year we learn "All About Me" The students used the different skin colored faces and bodies, along with the shredded paper for hair, to create theirselves. We are still hanging these around the room. With the play-doh mats we practiced showing different emotions. I said an emotion, such as "happy" and students had to use play-doh to show the emotion on the face mat.
The students love the materials we received in this donation. We have enough supplies to make even more projects with everything. The students use the play-doh mats in centers now. They enjoy creating different faces.”

Funded Mar 29, 2022Thank you so much for your very generous donation! My students were so excited when we opened up the boxes of new books! These books for social emotional learning will help me so much throughout the school year!
Each month our school has a new pillar of the month, beginning with friendship, then communication, empathy, respect, cooperation, Kindness, dealing with disappointment, conflict resolution, and Fairness and Justice. All of these books will be read throughout the school year to teach students about these topics. Once the books are read, they will stay out in the student classroom library for students to look through it again as they please.
I've already started reading some of these books, and can't wait to continue reading them throughout the year.”

Funded Dec 18, 2021Thank you so much for donating these boxes of crayons for my kindergarten students!
When the crayons first arrived and were handed out, the students were so excited to each get a new pack of crayons! Most of their crayons that they had were broken into small pieces of lost, this was exciting for them.
The students are using them daily to color and create their own art work. As shown in the pictures, the students are drawing faces and illustrating different emotions.
In the kindergarten classroom, it is so important for students to continue to color and create. These crayons give them the ability to be as creative as they want.”

Tools for a Safe Space
Funded Oct 5, 2021Thank you again for the wonderful donations for the tools for a calming area in the classroom. Upon receiving these tools, I set them up in the classroom library area. Students of course noticed them right away and were excited.
When I first submitted this project, I wanted these tools to help the students when they were having emotional difficulties in the classroom, whether they were sad or angry, I wanted and area where they could go to decompress and calm down. The area I set up in the library is perfect for this. Students who are upset are able to go sit on the gel mats in the library and use the sensory tools to calm themselves down. A timer is set, and they know to return to their seat after.
The calming center has really helped my students who have been struggling. Some of them know to go to the cool down center even before they get overwhelmed and very upset. They have learned how to regulate their emotions in a way. Because of this I am very thankful for your help!”

Funded Oct 2, 2021When returning to school for the 2021/2022 school year many students and staff were very hesitant and didn't know what to expect. Everyone wore (and still wears) masks, and we were required to social distance when we were able to, which proved to be very difficult in crowded classrooms. We followed health protocols and washed our hands consistently, however I still felt the need for more protection, and this is why I created this project for Air Purifiers.
By the end of September, our worst fears came true, we had positive COVID Cases in the classroom and had to shut down and go full remote. By the time we returned, my project for Air Purifiers was completed. Since setting them up in the classroom it felt a little safer knowing that we were breathing in cleaner air.
We have not had anymore positive COVID cases since September. Although it may or may not be related to the Air Purifiers, we all feel a lot better knowing our air is being purified.”

Funded Nov 11, 2019I hope that these few photos tell it all about how valuable this document camera is in the classroom. This tool allows students to share their work, and we are able to teach using the camera to project books and other work that would be hard to see otherwise.
When we connect the document camera students already begin calling out " I want to share"! It really impacts their writing because they want to put a lot on the page and do their best so that they can place it under the document camera to share with the class. You really see how proud they are! Students not only share their writing, after reading workshop they can place their book under the camera for the class to see, and read it to them, they can also share their art work or anything else.
The document camera is also very helpful for teaching. We can place instructional materials under the document camera to write on, or we can project it and use the Triumph Board to write on what is projected. We can also teach math and show manipulative under the camera, as well as project books. There is so much that can be done using this tool.”

Funded May 12, 2017Thank you very much for donating these books to my classroom. Each year we teach nonfiction, and two of these units are nonfiction books clubs, and writing all about books. Every year I have struggled to find sets of books for the book clubs that are not only specific reading levels, but are also high interest books. These sets of books are all leveled and are interesting for the students to read.
In our nonfiction book club unit the students are asked to read about a nonfiction topic and discuss it together. I chose these specific sets of books because they are sets of books around the same topic, such as the solar system. So if a book club is reading all about Mars and discussing Mars, when they are finished they can choose another planet, and learn even more about planets. Then they will be able to compare the planets.
In our nonfiction unit of all about books, students are asked to choose a topic independently or with a partner, read all about it, then write their own book or news article to share with the rest of the class.
These sets of books are great for student collaboration in in our nonfiction units. I look forward to using them in the future with my students! Thank you again for your generous gift.”
