Our students are amazing individuals. Many come from difficult circumstances, and school is a safe refuge for them. In February 2013, our school burned down completely, and all 500 students had to be bused to other schools in the district. Thanks to our fantastic school district and the amazing generosity of our community, we were able to keep classrooms with their teachers, and have students back in classrooms within three days. Three days! These students are strong, resilient, and deserve to be able to read, write, investigate, and inquire with quality materials- regardless of their socioeconomic status!

About my class
