As Educational Media Specialist in one of four magnet high schools located in the city of Newark, I often see students operating in day to day survival mode just to get needs met that others may often take for granted. Although they come in with high expectations for themselves, many have limited resources at home to help bridge the gap of a digital divide that is real. As a lifelong learner and educator I am committed to the task of helping prepare our students to become productive and self-sufficient citizens of the United States of America. By fostering academic excellence and achievement as well as character development, it is my hope that these students will come back after graduating high school or higher education, then, give back to others what has been so generously given to them.

About my class
