Learning through Reading
Funded Jan 17, 2025Thank you so much for your generous donation and support for my classroom! The students will be so excited to have a designated area to read. The easel will help my students learning and help them remember key information from our lessons that would otherwise be erased off the board daily.”

Labels, Labels, Everywhere!
Funded Nov 18, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation. With this project I was able to create a safer environment for my students. I was able to make personalized masks and water bottles for all of the students returning to the building. Since the masks are personalized if they are taken off during lunch students are able to identify which one is theirs. School water fountains can't be used during this time so the water bottles help keep my students hydrated throughout the day. I was also able to make name labels for my students materials, which helped students know what was theirs and reduce any unwanted touching of items and potential germ spreading. Labels were also added to the classroom floor so that students know exactly where to line up and stand and stay distanced apart.
My students were ecstatic to see their names on their masks, water bottles, and supplies! They love to know that something is theirs and just for them. I have also been able to use the Cricut Joy machine to make prizes and incentives for my students who are staying remote. Students who have their cameras on and are engaged in the learning are put into bi-weekly raffles where the winners get to choose their own design to be turned into a decal. The students are loving being able to choose and help create something that they wouldn't be able to just buy.
When we eventually return to full in-person, I will be continuing to use the Cricut Joy to create labels and materials for my classroom. I will also continue to use it to create student incentives and eventually having students draw their own designs to be cut and placed on different mediums.”

Safe Quality Education From Anywhere
Funded Sep 17, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations and helping me provide a classroom setting to students remotely. When the project was created we had been scheduled to teach with a hybrid model but a few weeks before school started the district announced we'd stay remote.
Being able to have a whiteboard has made it easier for me to model for students in ways that aren't always easy to do on a laptop. My remote classroom is in my basement so the headphones helps with the random noises of the furnace and sub pump. The webcam makes the view more clear so students can see me and the whiteboard better. The whiteboard did come with some markers, so I have not had to use the Arteza set yet. Again, thank you so much in helping me continue to provide quality education to my students”

Funded Nov 27, 2019Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend the two professional development sessions. So far, I have attended one of the two which focused on how to help students who have experienced trauma in their lives. Many of the students I work come to school with a lot of extra baggage, making it hard for them to focus in the classroom. Through this professional development, I learned skills to begin helping students heal without triggering them by bringing up previous trauma they've experienced.
Through the donations, I was also able to purchase three books that further help provide interventions to support my students. One of my major take-aways from this first professional development was learning that most of our students negative behavior is a result of the student missing something in their life; belonging, generosity, independence, or mastery. The professional development provided self-assessment, teacher assessments, and parent assessments to help identify what students are missing, and checklists of interventions to help repair the areas needed.
I am very excited to attend the next professional development in May and hope to take all of this learning to better support my students' needs.”

Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donation to help fund this project. Through your donation my students were able to self-publish their personal writing. The third and fifth grade students were able to share their personal experiences in their writing, and discuss how their live events have influenced their everyday lives. The remaining grades have not yet completed their projects.
When my students first saw the materials, they were very excited to hear that they would be able to create their own books. The students were able to take ownership of the assignment and put the book together on their own. They showed a lot of pride in their work.
As the school year continues, I will continue working with my students in their social-emotional needs. The kindergarten and first graders will be creating a book focusing on their emotions and how to control their emotions and the seventh grade students will be focusing on writing personal narratives about their lives and futures. All of my students are very grateful for your donations and are learning the necessary skills to control their emotions and communicate with others.”

Classroom Supplies Will Help Students Soar
Funded Aug 11, 2015Thank you to your generous donation, my students were all able to start off the school year on the right foot. Many of my students come in on the first day of school with just an empty backpack. As their teacher, I have found myself other purchasing the general supplies of notebooks, pencils, and folders with my own money. This because very difficult to do when you teach over 100 students. However, this year, with the help of all of you, my students were able to start the year off with the necessary supplies. Not only that, but through your donation I was able to receive Wiggle Seats which help my over stimulated students to still sit and move while learning.
When my students saw the materials they were very excited to see that some of their necessary supplies would be provided to them. From this project, students were able to each receive a composition notebook and pencils to use, in addition to the usage of clipboards, wiggle chairs, and dry erase markers!
As we approach the middle of the school year, many students have since slowly brought in some school supplies. As we start to run low on the original classroom supplies, their additional supplies can now be used to supplement and students will not have to once again purchase notebooks and pencils.”

Discovering The World From The Classroom
Funded Aug 25, 2015Thanks to your donations, my students have been able to explore the Museum of Natural History, swim in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and explore Mars through the view of the rover, from the comfort of our own classroom. This resource has allowed me students to see a world outside of their own neighborhood. When my students put on the viewers for the first time they were amazed to see how realistic the images were. Although they were not able to walk forward, the 360 degree view allowed them to see a very realistic view of the area around them. One of my students even started reaching his hands out trying to touch the images.
When my students first saw the viewers, they were not really sure what they would be doing. They asked how they would be going on field trips with a piece of cardboard. They were not sure how this tool would allow them to learn and grow. Since not all of my students have cell phones and not all phones were capable of downloading apps, the students that did have phones were generous to share the resource. The students were amazed at what they were seeing. They were excited to travel the world and learn through this virtual reality trip. Some students even mentioned wanting to ask their parents for a viewer for Christmas.
As we proceed through the school year, students will be going on more virtual trips to locations more similar to what we are learning in the classroom. For example, as we learn about our ecosystem and explore different habitats, we will be traveling to each one (that we can find) to see what living and non-living organisms we can find. We will also be looking at how all of these ecosystems are interrelated in a larger system.
Again, thank you so much for your generous donations! Without them, we would not be able to travel the world and explore the places we would otherwise possibly never have the opportunity to visit. Your donation means a lot to me and my students!”

Funded Nov 19, 2013Thank you so much for your donations! Without them my students would not have been able to have these wonderful resources in the classroom! The students were very excited to have the new materials to use and learn from. The materials are being used every day during our centers and small group work. And the students are constantly asking every day if we will be doing centers!I have already started to see great improvement in my students scores since I've been able to work with smaller groups and have visuals and manipulatives for the students to work with.
Thank you again so much!!”
