• Powerful Picture Books

  Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom. When I explained to my students where the books were coming from, they were very impressed that we had so many people from around the country caring about us.

  We've read almost all of the books that you've shared with us and the students have loved all of them! The books have been a great addition to our classroom library and we have read them during read aloud and during our whole group reading lessons to learn specific reading strategies.

• Needing Non-Fiction

  Thank you so much for donating to our classroom library! The students were thrilled to have received so many great non-fiction texts.

  We read many of the books together during read aloud and the students enjoyed learning about the first Ferris Wheel, a sea turtle's life cycle, the invention of bubble gum, and SO much more! The students used many of the books when they were writing their own informational picture book. The books turned out great thanks to having quality books to use as "mentors."

• Beginning Book Clubs

  Thank you again for your generosity! When I introduced the idea of book clubs to my students, many were quite excited to have some choice and voice in their daily reading. Once the books arrived, the students were so ecstatic to select a book for their book club.

  Each book clubs meets multiple times a week to discuss the previous reading. The students share questions, inferences, specific lines that were important, and much more.

  The best part is when the students disagree on the next stopping point. There is almost always one student that doesn't want to put the book down, as he is so engrossed in the book two chapters could never be enough.

• Cultivating Real Readers

  Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. The students were thrilled to have received new books. I continue to highlight the books that were purchased through your generous donations and the students (along with myself) are in awe of your generosity.

  When the new books arrived, the students could not wait to get their hands on them. Many of the graphic novels were so popular that there was a wait-list to be the next to read them. By having access to quality, high-interest texts, the students have become real readers. They value good books and thanks to you, they have them.

  Our pictures show the students reading some of the new books on our "beach day," in which the students spent the afternoon pretending they were at the beach with their must-read books. Because of your kindness, the students have caught the reading bug. And that's a fantastic thing to have. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

• Picture Books With a Purpose

  Thank you all for your generosity! My students were absolutely thrilled when our books arrived. It was like Christmas in September! Each time I read one of the picture books to the students, the students remarked how kind the donors were. I agree! I am humbled by your kindness and generosity. It is wonderful to feel so supported.

  My students are growing as readers and it is possible because of you! As of today, we've read over 60 picture books and four novels as a class. The students love our read aloud time and often refer back to our shared texts. Thank you for giving these books to our classroom and allowing us to have this quality time together.

• Growing Our Love Of Reading

  Thank you so much for your donation! When our books arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled to get their hands on them. Every one of the books is currently being devoured. Multiple students actually stayed in from recess to continue reading their new book.

  Through your generous donation, many of my students and their families have grown their love of reading. Prior students and siblings of my current students have borrowed these books and are eager to read more by some of the authors.

  I've had multiple students share that this year they have become "real" readers and have found the true pleasure of curling up with a good book. Thank you for supporting our classroom and providing great books to quench my students' thirst for reading.”

• Mad About Magazines

  Thank you so much for your continued support of our classroom. Many of my students have been thrilled to get their hands on our new magazines. The students love to pick one up to read a quick article whenever they have the chance.

  The magazines have also been a great resource for the upper grade teachers as well. We have pulled many articles from the magazines to share with our classes. The students have enjoyed having lessons that used high-interest texts.

• Hooked on Books!

  Thank you so much for your continued support of our classroom. You have been instrumental in the development of my students' literacy lives. These books have already been enjoyed by two groups of my students and are certain to be enjoyed by many more to come.

  When my new group of fourth graders arrived this year, many were amazed at the wide variety of texts that were available within our classroom. Word has once again spread and I am often greeted by students from other classrooms coming to our classroom in search of a great book.

• We're Moving On Up!

  Thank you again for your donation. My students have truly grown as readers, thanks to you! It was great being able to start the school year with a new selection of books and my students were so thrilled that community members have once again supported our classroom.

  The word has gotten out that our classroom has the newest, most interesting, and most sought after books. Students from other classes, siblings of my students and even parents have been knocking on our door to get their hands on our great selection of books. They know the magic that a great book holds!

• History 101

  Thank you so much for your donation. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated.

  The history texts have been very helpful to have in our classroom. The students used many of the texts when creating a group presentation about various Native American groups around the country. I have also been reading many of the texts during our read aloud time, and the students really seem to enjoy getting a glimpse of what life was like before they were born. We have a group of students that have been working on becoming history buffs by reading the texts during independent reading time. I love seeing the students strive to grow academically all own their own!
