Discovering Who We Are!
Funded Jan 27, 2022What a huge asset this donation will be for my 4th graders! I can’t wait to show them their big scissors, new chapter books, whiteboard erasers, pastel chalks and so much more! Donors Choose is an amazing organization and I’m beyond grateful for donors who have seen a need to bless our schools with much needed resources!”

Funded Mar 13, 2019Funding this project made it possible for my students to make their writing look more professional. They were able to use it to print essays, covers for their stories, picture examples for them to sketch, and illustrations to add to their narrative writing.
Our school doesn't have a color printer for student access, so they definitely feel gratitude for the donation that was made! No longer is their writing "an assignment", but it feels like a professional published piece.
Our classroom also feels like we are able to have more quality work produced because of the printer that was bought for the classroom. They treat it with respect because they know what an asset it has become for our classroom.”

Funded Oct 24, 2018There is no way to describe how generous your donation was! We received a huge variety of items that will help my 5th graders make that transition from "little kid" to pre-teen. We received items from large scissors, grammar games, book sets, cubby organizers and sheet protectors, to books that help us socially navigate these awkward years.
In the back of my classroom, I've been able to make a display for a lot of the picture books that were donated. The books all have focused on a simple life skill such as telling the truth, controlling voice levels, how to handle not winning, how to be and individual etc. Students always have access to these "feel good about yourself" books. I also use these books to teach lessons throughout each month that can target a different skill. I notice a lot of my kids will gravitate to this book display because the books are all written in a fun story, with a great message!
One of the best parts about the donation has been the large scissors! In my 13 years of teaching, I had no clue how freeing a full sized pair of scissors could be for a 5th Grader! They absolutely feel like this is one way that has separated them from the little kids. Even when younger students have come into the classroom and have seen the large scissors, their eyes light up with pure jealousy! The phrase, "it's the little things", perfectly describes this!
Thank you so much for helping fund this project! It has been so much fun to use all of the items throughout this year! I'm very grateful to have these items in my classroom for these students to use!”

Funded Dec 29, 2010Wow! THANK YOU!!! You have truly made such a difference in my classroom this year with your donations! My students LOVE when their TIME Magazines arrive in the mail and I pass them out. They read them cover to cover multiple times and are always telling me new facts they've learned while reading.
I wanted to immerse my kids in as many different types of quality, non-fiction text this year and this has become one our our classroom's favorites! The TIME for KIDS magazines have made non-fiction text real and exciting and has been such a staple in my instruction.
I know this time in our economy isn't the most ideal to be making donations. Please know that you've touched both me and my kids with your generosity and love for kids! I seriously can't thank you enough!”

Funded Jul 14, 2008Thank you! What a wonderful surprise the books will be for my kids! I have been so discouraged with trying to find a way to fund a classroom set of this novel. Thank you for making this possible for a tiny school in a tiny town in Utah! We will enjoy these books for years to come. Thank you!!!”
