Read, Read, Read!
Funded May 23, 2016Thank you so much for your donation! My students will now be able to experience a new novel in class. While reading this novel, they will also be learning all the aspects of Reading that students are required to know such as plot, characterization, theme, figurative language and so much more. Without your help, my students would have had to learn these things through the boring textbooks and now they will do so by exploring life through someone else's eyes. You have made a time in education where money is scarce, seem like it's not. You're the best!”

A Classic for the Classroom!
Funded Feb 3, 2016Thank you so much for your donation. We have read the book and the students loved it! It was so great to be able to introduce them to such a wonderful classic. Being able to show students that it doesn't matter when a story was written, it can still be one of their favorites. We were able to have many great conversations while reading and were able to learn how people lived in a different time in the United States. Again, thank you so much for enabling us to be able to read this book in class. Without you, they would have missed out!”

Introducing Historical Fiction!
Funded Nov 4, 2014Thank you very much for your thoughtful and generous donation to my classroom. We were able to read the historical fiction book "Number the Stars" about a family who helped other Jewish families escape the horrors of the holocaust. My students were able to learn the concepts of theme, characterization, point of view and many more literary tools. The best thing about being able to read the book in class, though, was getting to discuss how racism and discrimination can turn into something so horrible as the holocaust.
Thank you again for allowing my students the joy of learning through reading.”

New School Needs Technology in the Classroom!
Funded Aug 29, 2014Thank you so much for your donation to allow my students to have classroom I-pads and a class printer. I have been able to incorporate fun educational apps that my students have had a blast playing and learning at the same time. The class printer has been a tremendous help as well. My students are currently working on Science Fair projects and have had a lot of information that has needed to be printed. Without the printer, this would have been much more time consuming as students were able to immediately edit and print as needed.
Again, Thank you so much for your generosity!”

Science
Funded Nov 14, 2013Thank you so much for your donation. You have made it possible for my students to actively engage in their education instead of just relying on words from a text book. My students are excited to come to class because they know we will be having fun. I've seen an improvement in grades from students who normally struggle because they are able to experience how fun Science and learning can be.
This is my 10th year to teach and I've never had a much fun as I've had this year. I'm excited about teaching each new concept because I know that I have the materials needed to make each experience an exciting one. Watching my students perform experiments has been so rewarding for me.
Again, Thank you so much. I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for your generosity!”

This classroom project was brought to life by NEA Foundation and one other donor.Moore, Oklahoma Students Need Lab Equipment!
Funded Sep 10, 2013My students and I were thrilled when we found out our project was funded! We are able to use the supplies bought with your donations to explore the parts of the Scientific Method. I was finally able to help my students to be able to understand each part because they were able to actually perform each part themselves with hands-on activities.
Thank you so much for helping me to make learning difficult concepts fun for my students. I will be able to use the materials for many years and I'm so excited to know that my classroom is one where students can't wait to come. None of that would have been possible without your donations!
Thanks again from Moore, Oklahoma!”

Scientific Discovery
Funded Jul 22, 2013I can not begin to express to you how much your donation has improved my student's learning. Each time I tell them we will be doing one of the hands on activities that we received due to your donation, they cannot wait to begin. They come into my classroom excited and ready to learn! We have been able to forgo the boring textbook reading and learn the concepts of physical science by doing experiments instead. My students have thrived in areas that they have struggled in the past with because of their excitement to perform these experiments.
I've always enjoyed teaching, but this year, I find myself giddy with excitement to watch the students as they are doing all the activities in class and I myself, cannot wait to begin each day that I know we will be using the donation items in class. Thank you so much for enriching the lives of my students and allowing them to have fun while at the same time learning everything they need to learn in my class for the year!”

The First Days of School!
Funded Jul 24, 2013Thank you so much for donating money so that my students have the basic school supplies they need to be successful in school. My students know that when it's time to use markers, glue, pencils or even something as basic as paper, it is there for them. I did not have to see any looks of embarrassment on my students faces this year and I'll never be able to express my gratitude enough.
My students are so grateful to you for helping make this year one that they know they can enjoy and not have to worry about anything but learning!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Mitchell
