Building Independent Learners to Become Future Leaders
Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you for your support for my students. The resources have been a wonderful support to my students' learning and independence. The dictionaries help reduce their fear of reading and writing.
The dictionaries help increase their interest in using bigger vocabulary in their writing, expanding their sentences, ideas and thoughts. These resources bring me into the unknown world of my students. They are taking a leap of faith and challenging themselves to become better readers and writers. Their writing has shown a big improvement in the pass month.
The students love writing on their own and exploring for different ways to express their ideas using the dictionaries. They also support each other in using the different dictionaries. They become teachers to themselves and their peers. It brings more chatting, laughter, and conversation into the class.”

The students come to the class with big smiles on their faces every day knowing our classroom is their sanctuary, and a nice clean place to be safe, feel loved and protected. Our classroom is a clean place where they feel safe and be without worries. They get to clean up after themselves and use what they needed without feeling fearful.
When the my students saw the boxes arrived to our classroom, they couldn't believe their eyes. They were shocked at all the materials they asked for were granted. They shouted and smiled with big laughter. Their joyfulness speak volume.
The students learned to take care of themselves and their classroom. They learned to appreciate every little things and moments with me. They learned to share and take care of each other without my involvement.
I couldn't thank you enough for your kind support and the love for my students.”

Funded Jan 2, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity and support for our classroom. This new technology is making a big impact for my students either as an independent station, a collaborative resource station, a research station or self-pacing station. It has made a positive impact in learning. It motivates the students to push themselves and challenge themselves in taking control of their own learning and managing their learning pace.
They are so grateful for the donation. The children were having a hard time believing in the gift that they waited before being delivered to our classroom. They were so excited and overjoyed. They were all eagerly waiting for their turns to use this station every day.
This new Chromebook is a game changer for all my students but there are four students who are particularly emotionally moved by this gift. They are my new students who just came to this country and have no technology at home in their country. They loved reading and writing on the Chromebook. It allows them to learn to learn to read with the audio books without feeling embarrassed and completing all their assignments using the google translator. They have become independent learners.”

Funded Dec 13, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. Thank you for supporting my students during this challenging time. The students were overjoyed with these colorful timers. They all wanted to know how it worked when I took them out of the box.
We have been using the timers in our classroom everyday during independent work, partner work, and group collaborative work. It has worked wonders for the students. That is the first thing they go for from the supplies corner everyday as they walk into the classroom. They take charge of managing their own time and reminding each other how much time they have and refocusing themselves. The timers work extremely well for the students with short attention span during independent reading and writing. It also helps the shy students become more active during collaborative group work where they take charge of being the timers of the groups. With the help of the timers, the students are pushing themselves forward and are in charge. Our next step is reading marathon.
We thank you wholeheartedly for your kindness.”

The Positive Effect of Technology in a Special Need Classroom
Funded Aug 13, 2019I am wholeheartedly thankful for your support and donation for my classroom. It makes a world of differences for my students. They have been using the computers as assisted technology to support themselves in learning, researching, and clarifying their confusion and misconceptions.
The students can't wait to use the assisted technology everyday to prove to me that they are excellent learners and readers. We have been using the computers to practice our reading skills and writing our thinking when writing by hand is impossible. With these extra support in my classroom, even the reluctant learners are becoming hard working students, taking charge of their daily learning, and participate more in class. I see increasing peer interactions. Also, teaching each other of their own discoveries and new knowledge gained from their own independence.
With the help of these computers, I was able to set up stations, and bring the world far away into my classroom through videos. The students were fascinated by the new knowledge in multimedia forms.
Your support have made tremendous different in these children's learning life. It also helps build and boosts their self - esteem as well as person value of themselves.”

Funded Jan 1, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation. With your support for our classroom, I see a dramatic change takes place in our room. There is more independence, and respect among peers. The students take ownership of their work and responsibilities without complaint, along offering supportive hands in supporting their peers in need of assistance.
When I first opened the box, the students were amazed. They didn't believe that people would open their hearts and took time out to support them with the materials they needed to be successful in school. The girls were crying with happy tears, and the boys were shouting and rolling on the floor laughing with happiness. They took such pride in their folders that they didn't want to ruin it by decorating their folders.
We have used the materials from your donation to create stories, drafting our essays, writing down our thinking about reading from different angles, and sharpen our argument. We are currently finishing our argumentative essay and will soon have a publishing party to celebrate the little great debaters in our room.
Thank you so much.”

The Positive Effect of Technology
Funded Dec 20, 2016Thank you so much for your donation. It has made a world of difference in my classroom and in the learning life of the special need students. It helps the students to become more focused, responsible, become more confidence and independent, and take charge of their learning. The students take the initiative to go straight to the Chromebooks and use them to help themselves, as well as their classmates when they noticed someone is confused and needed help. They communicate with the Chromebooks and become teachers to each other.
As for my ENL students, they can't wait to come to class everyday to begin learning English and Science. The Chromebooks allow them to follow along the reading and hear the books being read to them. They allow them to interact with the books which leads to improvement in reading and comprehension. The technology also helps me connect the students' comprehension of the Science concept with visual and in turn leads to better understanding of the topic. I can literally see the differences in my students' attitude toward learning. I have students who have not spoken a word or interacted with anyone before since September no matter what I tried to do to help them, and now, they are independent and active with full confidence.
Your donation allows my students to become teachers, researchers, and presenters.
Thank you so much for believing in having technology in the classroom.”
