  • Look and Find Books!

    Funded Feb 27, 2023

These books have helped provide opportunities for my students to engage with books in a more non traditional way yet continue to build their life of books and reading.

These books are very special to my students and they have exhibited such enthusiasm for them!

On any given school day you. You can find these books being actively used by my students during any "down" time they have. These books have also served as a wonderful incentive for my students and an opportunity to reward good behavior.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hironaka

  • Flexible Workspace

    Funded Oct 31, 2022

"YAY! They're here!" Was my students response when I opened the boxes that contained our new items for our flexible work spaces.

My students gave Vern using these portable desks to claim all the spaces in our classroom to work. They LOVE having the option to work in all areas of our classroom. It has changed their mood and increased enthusiasm and engagement as they select where they would like to work.

The portable desks also help to remind my students they are still in school, they still have work to do, but they do have a choice in their work location .

Thank you for supporting my project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hironaka

This items have been nothing short of inspiring!!! My students have LOVED doing art using all the new resources and supplies your generous donation has allowed them to have!

We have done beautiful water color art and are working on an inspiration garden using our supplies.

None of these supplies would have been possible without your support. These special items do not fit in our school budget. These items have brought so much joy to my students and helped me to enhance their education.

We can't thank you enough for your generous support!”

  • Cozy Carpet

    Funded Apr 6, 2022

Having this carpet has meant the world to my class. It often appears in their journal writing and is the topic of much discussion. We use it every single day, multiple times a day to come together as a class community to discuss, learn, explore and wrap up our day! My students look forward to coming and sitting on such a beautiful and inviting space that I could not have provided them without you! Please know that we are putting your generous donation to GREAT use and both myself and my students are forever grateful for your generosity!”

  • Coding Is Our Future!

    Funded Mar 15, 2022

Thank you for helping me to open the world of coding through the use of programable robots! The kids have been so excited and engaged to use them!

Thank you for your willingness to make a generous donation toward educating the keiki of Hawai'i. Sadly, projects like this are considered extra and without your support, "extra" projects like these would not be possible.

My students and I look forward to continuing our exploration of programable robots and seeing what we can accomplish. Hopefully students are inspired to become future programmers!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hironaka

  • Library Refresh!

    Funded Mar 5, 2022

Having a fresh supply of in demand books for my students has been a true blessing! My student have been so excited to read the new books! It is often a struggle to get them to put the books down.

The new books have meant so much to my students. They have asked me where they came from and how I go so many of their favorite books. I told my students that there are very generous people in the world and we were lucky enough to have generous people care about our class and care enough to buy us new books!

Thank you for being our person!”

  • Mind Your Seat!

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

This project has allowed me to provide an opportunity for my students to get to sit together on the floor with proper social distance and safety measures in place. These seats have provided my students with social opportunities (with safe social distancing) as well as opportunities to discuss our learning and learn from each other.

These chairs would have never fit in our usual school budget and yet they have brought so much joy and provided many new opportunities for my students. Thank you for your generosity and support of my students and classroom.”

    Mrs. Hironaka

The centers have been a great motivation for my students and a way for me to provide my students with opportunities to engage with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Thank you for providing my classroom with materials that were not in our budget and that we could not afford to provide otherwise. My students and I thank you!”

  • Say YES to Foundational Reading Skills

    Funded May 15, 2021

Helping me to fully fund resources for foundational reading skills will change my students lives and I have you to thank for helping me to do so.

Through your generous donation, you have helped me to provide valuable resources to my students to help them become readers. We all know that once you teach a child to read, you have changed their life forever.

Thank you for helping me to do my job and do it well. Without your generous donation, my students would not have these resources. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hironaka

  • Art Supplies for All

    Funded May 7, 2021

These supplies have infused so much excitement in my classroom! My students are so thrilled to have new paints, REAL art paper and new colored pencils! Many times my students have had to use their second and third choice of colors as the paints I had for class were missing colors...and now they get their full choice of BRAND NEW color pallets! Although this seems basic, watching my students light up when they got their new sets of art supplies has been magical!

In addition to the art supplies, having the wooden mail organizer has made managing art projects SO MUCH easier! I am so thankful for this system in my classroom. It has enabled my students to manage their projects and keep their work organized, supporting my goal of created independent students. This system has also helped to keep their projects from blowing all over the classroom and sometimes getting ruined/lost.

Finally, our new digital response boards have made quick reviews and checks for understanding so much fun! We have also done lots of "quick draws" with these. It is so helpful to not have to worry about dry erase markers, which many of my students can not afford.

Thank you again for your generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hironaka

Over 80% of my students receive free and reduced lunch and live in public housing. For low- income families, technology is just not an option in their budget. Our school funds often go to cover basic and essential items such as staff, books, Xerox copies, curriculum, and basic supplies. We rarely have "extra" funds that can support enrichment materials and items that are considered beyond necessity. My overall goal for theses funds is fund an engaging and fun learning environment that my students are excited to come to every day! I want to build a passion that will last their entire lives. My goal is to build motivated, life long learners.
