Learning With Fun And Games On An iPad Mini!
Funded Aug 24, 2014My children were so excited to receive the iPad mini! They could not believe that it was for them. Each one waited eagerly for their turn to use it.
The iPad mini is being used daily by individual students, pairs of students and in small groups. It has been used as a tool for intervention, for those who need further practice with letter recognition and letter sounds. It has been used by pairs of students to watch a video of book. Recently, we have been using it to video tape the children as they read in small groups. They are able to then watch it later. This has been a powerful tool for these students and I know it will make a difference in their reading fluency.
I have several special education students in my class who are benefiting greatly from the use of the iPad mini. Being able to listen to stories, to play alphabet games and to play games that help with beginning math skills, have helped them to make progress. A student in my class with a significant deficiency in letter recognition and letter sounds is also making progress thanks in part to the alphabet games he is able to access.
I am truly and deeply grateful for your generous donation that is allowing my students to have access to this technology. We are already seeing the effect that it is having on their academic growth!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Smith
