An Apple (iPads) for the Students

I am a cluster teacher at PS 204. I use 25 iPads with over 600 students. I teach them to go online and use MyOn, the electronic library that has over 5,000 books. Students use the iPads to read books such as Frankenstein, Robinson Crusoe, and Cinderella. One of the students was reading a book about medicine.

The students love going on Myon, but there has been one problem: due to wear and tear, the Ipads have problems. It is not uncommon for them to freeze. Some of them are cracked. The sound doesn't work for others. Since our school budget was tight, I decided to go on Donors Choose as a last resort. I asked for five Ipads and was very happy when that request was granted.

The students were very glad to see the new iPads and I have collected six letters that show their gratitude. From class to class, there were cheers. In the picture that I am sending, I allowed five students who finished their thank you notes to hold the Ipads before anyone else did in the building. And for that privilege, they were grateful. The Ipads now have the internet and the apple ID and they are ready to use.”
