    Thank you so much for your kind and generous donations to my project. These new decodable readers are used daily in my literacy intervention groups. The students I see are in grades Kindergarten through Second grade. They receive 25 minutes of pull out literacy instruction four days a week.

    These decodable books align with the scope and sequence to my intervention program. Students focus on specific phonics patterns two days a week, and then the students are able to apply their skills to a connected text, which are the decodable readers.

    The students have been gaining confidence with these books which is so great to see. None of this would be possible without donors like you! Thank you again for all of your support.”

They have started using these new books for Book Clubs. It is amazing to see the students so engaged in the books and having such thoughtful conversations about the books! These books are going to help our students grow and instill a lifelong love of reading. Watching them participate in Book Clubs with their peers is such a wonderful experience.

  • Earn a Token...Earn a Book!

    Thank you so much for your kind and generous donations to my project. All of these wonderful new books are going to be placed in our new book vending machines.

    Our students are going to have opportunities to earn tokens for kindness. Once a student earns a token, they will be able to choose a book from our vending machine. These books will go home with our students so that they are able to start their own book library at home.

We love to read and write in first grade! I am a first grade teacher who always wants to see her students grow and learn! My students are eager learners who enjoy reading books and writing stories! Students at my school do not always have the opportunity to thrive and grow at home, so coming to school gives them that chance to succeed.
