As a first year teacher, I am taking a leap when I say our school has some of the hardest working kids out there. In fact they even wear t-shirts that say "Make Goals, Not Excuses" on Monday mornings to start off the week. Our Title 1 school has created a culture of hard work, no excuses, and taking control of your own education. My students attend a Title I public school in California. A large portion of our students come from low socio-economic homes. They also come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. With the high expectations set by the staff, my students come to school ready to attack the academic day!
