My class of middle school students are currently working at least two years or more years below their current grade level. They are in an intensive language program, to try and "catch them up" to succeed in the regular classroom. These middle school students are motivated, but due to circumstances, have struggled in their school career.
We are in a high poverty area, with 99% of our students receiving free lunch. The majority of the students are English Language Learners and their only access to technology is at the school site. We currently have technology, but require the "hands-on" activities need to succeed in higher education.
