I teach middle school in an urban school in Pennsylvania and my students are an underserved population. My students make huge sacrifices to attend a special admit school so that they do not have to attend their neighborhood school where education is secondary to discipline and behavior management. The educational crisis has eliminated any opportunity to gain educational resources. It is a huge financial struggle trying to provide the necessary materials and makes it difficult to make sure that you are taking care of the whole child.
