Science Is All Around
Funded Sep 5, 2023I want to thank you once again for your generous contribution to my classroom. My students have become even more curious now that they have microscopes to use. They are always finding objects to put a microscope and examine it. The microscope's have given them the opportunity to learn even more about science.
I always believe that science is a subject that student should see the natural world in color, not in black-and-white. The color printer has become one of my most valuable tools in the classroom.
Again, I want to thank you for your support of me, and all of my future scientists”

Science Exploration Materials & Games
Funded Jul 17, 2013I want to take this opportunity to thank you again for donating to my science classroom. My students were especially excited about the microscopes. They couldn't wait to "see cool stuff". Their excitement extended to them even taking the lead in learning how to use the microscopes and then teaching other in the class..
My Fifth grade students couldn't wait to learn how to use the microscopes and view some of the materials we were using in their investigations.
They were particularly fascinated seeing salt crystals, and tiny pieces of sand. Their understanding of the tiny particles that make up matter increased greatly. they were better able to understand and see particles in their smallest form.
I have chosen some of my fifth grade students to become my "lab assistants" to lead and teach students in both third and fourth grade how to use the microscopes. They love being "lab assistants", and their curiosity and love of science has increased.”

Making Science Models
Funded Nov 15, 2023Once again I want to thank you for your donation to my science projects. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.
My students are excited to get the model magic clay and paint so they can start their new project. I am hoping we can enter this project in our district science fair.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Saletan
All "HANDS ON" FOR EXPERIMENTS!
Funded Dec 12, 2016You are awesome! With your support my students will have many hands on experiments to explore and learn about during our unit on electricity & magnetism. Due to your generosity, each student will be able to use their own magnet and not have to share with their partner. I told them about your generous gift, and they can't wait to start their next science unit.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Saletan

Funded Aug 25, 2016Thank you for your contribution to my "Science Exploration in the Classroom". The resources I purchased have brought new "hands-on" experiences to my students. Because to the new reading materials and specifically "Picture Perfect Science Lessons", hands on experiments have raised their level of questioning and understanding. They are certainly more curios and engaged during lessons. And more importantly they are becoming more curios about the world around them.
When I first brought the books and other materials into the classroom, students immediately began reading and sharing with their partners. They even told me which experiments and books they wanted to do first!
These materials have helped to empowered my students to make literary connections to their science experiments.
Students love coming to the science lab each week. They know that they will be exploring many areas, such as animal cells, measurement & weight, and design. Reading, discussion, experimentation all help students gain a clearer, more in depth understanding of the common core topics they are studying.
I want to thank you again for your commitment to the education of my students.”

Funded Sep 9, 2014Nothing excites a child more than opening a gift package. My students knew that packages from Donor's Choose would be arriving for them, and each day they asked if the packages had arrived. Finally the day came! Walking into a classroom with a few boxes of varying sizes only piqued their curiosity and level of excitement.
As each box was opened, their excitement grew. The books on animal habitats and the beautiful photos caused a near riot as my students couldn't wait to show me, and each other the "cool pictures of the animals". The boxes of mineral and rocks were a real hit and students rushed to examine them with their classmates. The mineral and rocks have really brought the earth science program to life. They have given my students the opportunity to really examine and compare various rocks and minerals up close rather than merely reading about them or looking at pictures in a book. They are now able to speak knowledgeably about how rocks and minerals form; one of the learning standards for this grade.
The books on animals and their habitats have really brought science to life especially for my English Language Learners. They love "reading" the pictures, and their curiosity then stimulates them to read the captions and the text. This has greatly enhanced and expanded their learning and made teaching them more rewarding.
Once again, thank you for your generous support of my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Saletan
