Our Home Away From Home
Funded Aug 15, 2024My students were thrilled when they saw the new cart for their backpacks. Before, they had to leave their bags on the floor, which sometimes made it hard to keep the classroom organized. Now, with a dedicated place to hang their things, they feel more comfortable and organized. The cart has given them a sense of responsibility over their belongings, and they're eager to use it every day. The excitement on their faces when they realized that this simple change would make their space tidier and easier to navigate was truly heartwarming.
They were especially touched when they learned that this cart was a donation from people who wanted to support them. Knowing that others cared enough to make their daily experience better made them feel valued and respected. Coming from a low-income area, my students don't always have access to resources like this, so the donation had a big impact on them. This small act of kindness has inspired them to take pride in their things and appreciate what they have, which is an important lesson that will stay with them.”

Funded Feb 2, 2009I would like to take this time to thank you for your generous donation. Working with sixth graders can be a challenge; keeping them motivated even more so. Every day I attempt to keep my students engaged and excited about learning. I have found that through technology I have been able to grasp their attention and dare I say, happy to be at school! Using the wireless keyboard I have been able to keep my 35 students engaged and still monitor their work on their laptops. The presentation remote/laser pointer has also helped me control the powerpoints and not be confined to my desk. My students also took advantage of the presentation remote when they gave their own presentations.
As a teacher I know that technology is constantly changing. I feel it is my duty to help my students embrace and properly use technology. This will prepare them for college as well as life in the professional world. Thank you once again for your generous donation and for helping me be a more effective teacher!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Salinas
