Team Building and Outdoor Movement
Funded Nov 22, 2021The student's were overjoyed when they saw the the playground equipment. Each item bringing our playground to life. From the colorful chalk artwork to the kids wobbling around on stilts, our playground is now filled with so much laughter and excitement. We are using the hula hoops to set up obstacle courses which are promoting team building and community. The students are becoming more comfortable on the stilts and with the skip balls. Imagination Station
Funded Dec 11, 2019I want to thank you for supporting my classroom. My students were overjoyed when they saw the new crayons, colored paper, markers, and clay. Because of your generosity we have done many art activities that go along with what we are learning. We now have enough crayons so that each student can have the same color at the same time so that we can do whole group activities.
I have been using the laminator for various activities. Some of the activities are for math centers so that they can write on it with dry erase markers and then we can reuse it the next day. I have also made activities that are interactive such as different habitats where the students put the animals in the habitat where that animal can survive.
Our next unit of study is learning about the rainforest. We are excited to use all of our materials to create a big art project of the different layers and animals.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Townsend Press and 4 other donors.Manipulative Madness
Funded Sep 18, 2019Thank you so much for donating towards "Manipulative Madness." When my students saw the bins of different colored counters, they were cheering. Using these different manipulatives for math has created a learning environment where the students are more excited about math. They are engaged in the lesson when they can use these hands on materials. It gives them a better understanding of one to one correspondence when counting. These counters have been useful in so many ways. From sorting by color, shape, and size to counting groups of items.
During our reading and writing centers we have been using the magnetic letters. They are learning new sight words and they have been using these letters to build the words. It makes learning more fun when you have materials you can manipulate and sort through. As the students become stronger in reading, we will begin to use the consonant vowel consonant cards in small groups. These are fantastic because of the easy to read and colorful pictures that go along with the words.
My students were really excited to write their thank you notes. They are extremely appreciative of your generosity.”

Radical Reading Rug!!
Funded Feb 5, 2009Thank you again for your generosity. My students love the new carpet. It adds color and excitement to the classroom. The students immediately wanted to find the letter that their name starts with. Not only is this carpet a new clean place for the students to sit during shared reading, but it also provides an exciting way to learn the letters and their sounds. ”

Circle Of Friends
Funded Mar 24, 2008I would like to thank all of you who made a donation to my classroom. My students are going to be thrilled to find out that we are getting a new easel. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when we receive it. This is going to enhance their learning and will help to create a wonderful area for our circle of friends meetings. Thank you again for caring so much about my students.
Sincerely,
