Bilibos for Kindergarteners
Funded Dec 28, 2018Thank you for your generous donations.
My class was so excited when all the boxes came. They couldn't wait for me to open them. They have really enjoyed the Bilibos and the two foam chairs. I was able to get the two foam chairs because not all the colors were available in the Bilibos. The first few days we practiced the procedures with the chairs. I also had all the girls get a Bilibos for one lesson and then all the boys got one for the next lesson. This gave all the kids a chance to try them and see who liked them. Now kids get them and sit on top or inside the Bilibos.
The kids love the foam chairs and I plan on getting more in the future.”

Magformers STEM
Funded Aug 13, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations. Unfortunately the Magaforms I picked were out of stock, so I picked three other things to get. I picked another Magaforms set, translucent gems, and letter blocks.
My students will use the Magaform set during morning tubs and at free centers. The translucent gems they will use during morning tubs, math, and games. The letter blocks the kids will use during morning tubs, literacy centers, and free centers.
Thank you again for funding my project. My students can't wait to try them out!”

Funded Feb 18, 2018Thank you very much for your generous donations. I did this project several years ago, but when I left my previous school, I had to leave the bath mats behind.
My students were in shock at first when they walked in and the tables were gone. I did keep two tables for the kids who don't want to be on the floor. I store the bath mats in laundry baskets. When my students finish their breakfast in the morning, they get a bath mat and can sit or lay down anywhere in the room. They are loving the flexibility they have in choosing where they sit. They also love the fact that after we put the bath mats up for certain parts of the day, they can get a bath mat back out and pick new spots. Having the bath mats also gives us more room to move around in our classroom because there are not tables in the way.”

Listening Center for Kinders
Funded Jan 12, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations. With out your donations, my class would not be able to receive the mobile listening center, eight headphones, portable CD player, volume controls, four book boxes, and the many audio books. My class gets very excited when it is their turn to go to the listening center. They love hearing the books and the the fun voices on the CDs. The kids even ask to go to the center when it is free choice play, when they can play with blocks, Legos, or the home center.
Thank you again.”

Sensory Table Fun
Funded Jun 28, 2017Thank you again for your generous donations that have allowed me to get sensory materials for my classroom. My class was so excited when the boxes arrived and I opened them. Their eyes got wide and their jaws dropped. The sensory materials will be used during Reading and Math Centers and during free centers. The alphabet, number, and shape materials and tubs will be perfect to use at the teacher table or in a small group with an aide and lower students. The students will be able to touch the letters, numbers, and shapes.
The other materials will be put in the sensory table with sorting and matching games. Students will reach into the materials and try to find the cards to make matches or groups.
Thank you again for your help.”

Reading and Math Hot Dots
Funded May 5, 2017Thank you again for your generous donations that have allowed me to get Reading and Math Hot Dots for my classroom. My class was so excited when the boxes arrived and I opened them. Their eyes got wide and their jaws dropped. Some of the Hot Dots will be used during Reading and Math centers and as early finishers.
The Hot Dots are very helpful when kids are working individually or in small groups because the kids can self check their answers and find out immediately if they got the question right or wrong. I am so excited for us to start using them. Thank you again.”

Stem Activities For Kindergarten
Funded Apr 18, 2017Thank you again for your generous donations that have allowed me to get STEM activities for my classroom. My class was so excited when the boxes arrived and I opened them. Their eyes got wide and their jaws dropped. Some of the STEM activities will be used as early finishers, Friday free centers, and indoor recess. The rest of the STEM books and activities will be used once or twice a week I hope or once or twice a nine week for a class project. I wish my class would be able to use the activities every week, but there is never enough time.
My students come from a very low income area and the STEM activities will be so helpful in introducing engineering and science to my students.”

Basic Needs
Funded Feb 7, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donate, so I was able to get toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, socks, and underwear for my Kindergarteners.
My Kindergarteners were so excited to receive their toothbrushes and toothpaste and their shampoo. Their eyes got wide and the smiles on their faces were priceless. The school was able to have a dentist to come and show the kids the right way to use the toothbrush and toothpaste.
I have not had to use the socks or underwear yet. I am holding on to it in case a student has some sort of accident or if they come to school without socks or with hole in their socks.”

Funded Oct 30, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donations. I appreciate all of your help.
I will never forget the look on my students' faces when they walked into the classroom and saw all the flexible seating choices. They were so excited and could not wait to tell the students walking down the hallway.
My students started using the flexible seating after Thanksgiving. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas Break, I rotated the kids around so they would be able to try the different seating choices and practice the procedures for using them.
When the kids come back from the Holiday Break I will have a clip chart up. The kids will take a clothespin and clip it on the chart to show where they choice to sit that day. I want the students to learn that they need to choose what seating works best for them and not to just sit by their friends. It will take practice, but I know they can do it.
Thank you again for funding my project.”

Educational Computer Games and Audio Books
Funded Mar 10, 2016Thank you again for your generous donation. My students were so excited when all the interactive computer games were loaded on my teacher computer. We had to have someone from the IT department come load them. We have used the games in whole group, small group, after school tutoring, and one or two students at a time. The games are bright and colorful and have easy instructions for my students.
My students also love our new audio books. They are so excited on Mondays when I switch out the listening center and see what new story will be there. During centers I can hear them try and read along to the story.”
