Breakfast Snacks
Funded Nov 13, 2021Thank you very much for the generous donations. Your donations helped purchase breakfast snacks for students who get to school late and miss breakfast. Children have a very hard time concentrating at school when there stomachs are empty.
The packages just arrived a few days ago. They have been opened to make sure everything is there and the office staff is working on a neutral location to keep the snacks, so that adults have access to them. As students need a breakfast snack, an adult can take the child to the location and let them pick 1-2 snacks for them to eat.
Thank you again for your contribution.”

Sensory Items
Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you for the generous donations. My class got so excited when the packages arrived. Their eyes lit up when we opened them. One of my students walked on the sensory tiles 30-40 times yesterday. She loved the way they felt on her feet. My students love the number liquid tiles also. One of my students always puts them in number order before walking on them. The drums and musical book are mainly for a specific student I have and they are one of the only things he doesn't throw. The students in my class crave sensory materials and I am so thankful that with your help, we were able to receive some.”

Funded Aug 23, 2021Thank you for your generous donation. My students and I were so excited to open our packages. We have not opened the washer and dryer box yet. We will open it and put it together when we are ready to learn about sorting, folding, and hanging up clothes.
The only item we have used so far is the shape sorter/ball/music toy. I have a student who is nonverbal and limited on what he can do. He loves music and he has really been enjoying working on his hand eye coordination and motor skills while playing with the toy. The rest of the items we will be using as the year goes on.”

Life Skills and Job Training Center for Special Needs Students
Funded May 4, 2021Thank you so much for the materials for the Life Skills Centers. The first center I am setting up is a camping center. My students will practice sequencing while making s'mores, folding and unfolding a picnic blanket, sorting and measuring fish in a pond, bird watching, setting a table, and many more skills. I will have one to two different Life Skill Centers a month for the kids to practice different skills through play. My students were so excited when we opened the boxes and they saw all the materials. They can't wait to get to explore and learn with them.”

Funded Sep 29, 2020My students and I greatly appreciate your generosity in helping to fund our Sensory Materials Project. My students were so excited to see and use the new materials. They love the music, lights, and working on their gross and fine motor skills. One of my students loves transportation, especially buses and his favorite item is the phonics school bus. He enjoys driving it around the classroom and singing the songs. All of my students love the fish tank and light projector. They are very calming for the kids and they could watch them for hours if I let them.
I also appreciate the storage cabinet. I moved classrooms and storage was at a minimum. The cabinet stores my IEP files, ELA and Math games, and cookie sheets and magnet materials.”

Basic School Supplies and Manipulatives
Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations. They really helped my families out. Many of my families are not able to afford basic school supplies for their children.
Some of the items were not available, so I picked some alternative products. I was able to get a few liquid glues. I got sandwich boxes instead of school boxes. I was able to get some art supplies from Lakeshore. I got skin tone construction paper, feathers, peel and stick cubes, and craft storage containers.
We have already used the Play Doh, paint, and construction paper on several art projects.
My students can't wait to use all the donations.”

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you again for your generous donations. The kids were so excited when they saw all the snacks. The snacks will help us out so much. They need a small snack to help them in the afternoons. We were able to get enough snacks to last us at least till Winter Break or longer.
Thank you also for the cleaning supplies. Unfortunately, with COVID several of the items we were not able to get, so I picked out some replacement items. We got Sassy bags to put dirty clothes in, gloves, Kleenex, thermometer, and baby wipes.”

Funded Feb 28, 2020Thank you for your generous donations. It means the world to my students. We finally have all our boxes. Every time a new box would arrive, my students' faces lit up. They can't wait for me to open them. I am waiting for everyone to be here for us to take pictures and open the boxes.
The water beads and ocean animals will be used in our sensory tub. The design your own car will be used in the Fall during our Transportation unit. The weighted animals will be used everyday to help calm down and relax the students. All of the Math and Literacy centers and games will be used this year and many years to come to help differentiate more with my students and give them hands on activities instead of worksheets all the time.”

Early Learning Materials for Special Needs Students
Funded Apr 16, 2019Thank you very much for your generous donations. I am excited to use them with my special needs students this coming school year and years to come. I received the resources at the end of this previous school year, so I have not used them yet with my students. My students this year will not know right away that these resources were donated because they didn't see them arrive. I will make sure to tell them every time we use one of them though.
The two special needs picture books will be read to the class, but also to other classes through out the school. They will be used to help educate other students in the school about the special needs my students have. This will help them be more excepted. The water beads and floam will be used as fine motor skill practice. The capital, lower case, and number tracers will be used to help teach the letters and numbers and how to form them. They are magnetic, so will be used year after year. I also received some magnetic puzzles to work on the alphabet, colors, and numbers.”

Funded Dec 28, 2018Thank you for your generous donations.
My class was so excited when our box from Lakeshore Learning arrived. They couldn't wait for me to open in. When I showed them our new audio books with CDs, they had giant smiles on their faces and clapped their hands! The Listening Center is one of their favorite centers and even though I usually have the kids listen to the same book two weeks in a row, we were still running out. The audio books plus CDs came just in time too! My class was able to listen to the 100th Day of School book the week we had 100th Day.”
