  • Special Needs Life Skills

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you for your generosity. My students and I are so very excited for our new Life Skill materials. This will help my students so much with hands on learning that would not be possible without your donations and support. I will be able to teach my students how to vacuum and use a broom and dust pan. We will also be able to cook so many more recipes!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wiszneauckas-Reeves

  • Flexible Seating for Special Need Students

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you very much for your generous donation. With your donation I was able to receive some new flexible seating options for my Self-Contained Severe and Profound Special Education class. My class uses the new flexible seating options everyday. We received two rocking bowls, four inflatable peanut shaped seats, and a spinning seat. My students like the spinning seat so much that I plan on getting one or two more in the future. My students love the rocking bowls. One is clear and one is green. The kids can sit in them and rock back and forth or spin in them. My students also like to sit on top of them when they are turned over or crawl underneath them and hide.

The peanut shaped seats the kids can straddle them and bounce or sit on it side ways.

My students use the flexible seating options during carpet time or while looking at books.

The flexible seating helps my students get extra wiggles out and helps them focus.

    Thank you again.”

  • Musical Instruments for Special Need Students

    Funded Jun 21, 2024

Thank you very much for your generous donations. My students and I really appreciate your kindness.

My students have used the musical instruments several times already and love them very much. They love the different sounds they make and experiment with soft and loud sounds. They also enjoy hitting the rhythm sticks together and working on beats and patterns.

We have not used the headband ear phones yet, but we will be using them next week in the Listening Center.

We use the cd player daily and we love it. It is easy to use and a space saver.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wiszneauckas-Reeves

  • STEM Materials for Special Ed

    Funded Feb 15, 2024

Thank you very much for your generous donations. Your donations allowed my class to purchase STEM materials for my Special Need students. I have a class with different ability levels and the STEM materials will help allow students of different abilities to use the materials all at the same time.

My students were very excited when the boxes arrived and we opened them. They couldn't wait to open the materials and try them out.

We have been doing a new STEM activity each week. One of my students loves the domino activity. Another student loves the make your own playground and skate park.”

  • LCD Writing Tablets and Jelly Boards for Special Need Students

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you very much for your generous donations. Your donations helped me purchase writing tablets and jelly boards for my Special Needs class. My students have really been enjoying the writing tablets and jelly boards so far.

Many of my students have sensory issues and for some of them using dry erase markers and boards is difficult. The writing tablets are wonderful because they are not messy and my students can answer questions or draw on them and they are very easy to erase.

My students who have a lot of sensory issues and do not like playdoh and paint, can use/touch the jelly boards with no mess on their hands.

    My students are so thankful.”

  • Sensory Room For All

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you again for your generous donations. I was able to purchase so many things for our Sensory Room. A few items were out of stock, but I was able to find items that were very similar as replacements.

The swing is getting hung this coming week and the sensory tiles. My students are very excited to try it out. We were able to go to the Sensory Room yesterday and start unwrapping items and getting everything organized for my class as well as any student in the school who could benefit from the room.

We all look forward to using the new materials for years to come.”

  • Small Appliances for Cooking Activities-Special Need Students

    Funded Aug 14, 2023

Thank you very much for your generous donations. My class was very excited when the packages came. We opened the boxes and I showed the class what we received. They can't wait for us to try out some new recipes using our new appliances. The food storage containers will be very helpful for any leftovers we have after we make our recipes. I also have a student in my class who can only have puree food. The immersion blender and big blender will come in handy so that he can try our recipes also. In the past he has not been able to participate in trying our recipes unless they have been smooth.”

  • Flexible Seating for Special Needs Students

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for the generous donations. Your donations helped me purchase some new flexible seating options for my class. Several of the items can be used for children of all sizes and even adults. My students love having options on what they want to sit on at the table and during group time. They really like the bouncy items that can be added to their chairs. My class really loves the two different size yoga ball chairs and the bouncy web fold up chairs. I love how the web chairs can be easily folded up when not in use.”

  • Sensory Wall Mounting Tape

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Your donations helped to provide mounting tape and strips to secure our sensory tiles to the wall. Unfortunately do to unforeseen circumstances we have not been able to make the sensory tiles or secure them to the wall as of yet. I have a day scheduled at the end of the month for volunteers to come help make the sensory tiles. Once they are made, I can start attaching them to the wall. I asked for several different brands of mounting tape so that I am able to see which one works the best.

My class was excited to see the packages come, but their real excited will come when they see the finished project.”

  • Sensory Wall

    Funded Mar 5, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous donations. My class and I are very excited about all the materials we received. Unfortunately, we have not been able to start the project yet. We should be able to in the next month. Last school year when I did the project, I found out that the school district would be closing our school. I did not want to make and put up the sensory items since we would have to take it all down and pack it again. I left all the materials in the boxes so that they would be ready to move. After we moved to our new school, the sensory/life skills room will be moving to a different room this week. I am waiting till we are officially in our new room to make the sensory tiles and mount them to the wall. I will also have the district maintance crew come and attach the ready made sensory activities to the wall so they are safe for the kids.”

My students love books but many of them do not have books at home nor do they receive brand new books. One of my goals this year is to instill a love of reading in my Kindergarteners. One way I would like to achieve this is by having my students "publish" their own books.
