  • Necklaces, Headphones, Totes, Bins, Pencils, and Markers, How Fun!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for funding our "Necklaces, Headphones, Totes, Bins, Pencils, and Markers, How Fun!" project on Donorschoose.org. The pencils, necklaces, storage totes, treasure box fillers, organizers, bins, dry-erase labels, headphones, dolly, and motivational chips are all such wonderful additions to our classroom learning! My students are using the pencils for extra special writing projects. I am making little phonics necklaces for my students to learn with. The organizers, bins and labels are helping us with classroom organization. The motivational chips are used for incentives as my students learn new things. The dolly is wonderful for helping us move our heavy learning materials around the room. The headphones are coming in so handy during assessments and other computer work. My students are finally able to block out sounds, for the best learning opportunity possible. I am so thankful for your help and support with this project. These items were needed so badly and our classroom budgets were cut completely.”

  • Phonemic Awareness: Supporting All Readers and Especially Students With Dyslexia!

    Funded Jul 26, 2022

Thank you so much for funding my "Phonemic Awareness: Supporting All Readers and Especially Students With Dyslexia!" project on Donorschoose.org. This class is absolutely wonderful because it ties in EXACTLY to what I am teaching every single day in my classroom. Phonemic Awareness is one of the most critical pieces of early learning and reading skills. Without it, students will struggle and struggle badly because it is all about tuning the ear to get ready to learn to read. This class really gives the basic groundwork needed to lay the foundation for reading success. I am so thankful to have had this wonderful opportunity to learn and grow with other educators who are passionate about literacy and helping children just like I am. Thank you again for your amazing support!”

  • We Need Nonfiction Books and Manipulative Storage

    Funded Jun 24, 2022

Thank you so much for funding our We Need Nonfiction Books and Manipulative Storage" project on Donorschoose.org. This wonderful bookshelf is just perfect for storing all of our nonfiction, decodable books and manipulatives. The bookshelf is super tall with nice durable shelves, and it is on wheels, so it is very easy to move about the classroom as needed. My students are already getting great use out of this set of shelves. I love that it is tall, because it has a very small footprint, yet stores so many of our needed, learning items. Thank you so much for your amazing support! We really appreciate it!”

  • Reaching Out to Help Every Reader Achieve Success!

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for funding our "Reaching Out to Help Every Reader Achieve Success!" project on Donorschoose.org. The Basic Reading Inventory set of books that I received is absolutely wonderful, and so very, very useful. The book is full of very important informal screening assessments for grades kindergarten through twelve, and has early literacy assessments, and progress monitoring tools. This resource is wonderful for using with students to target specific learning needs and struggles. I need this resource so that I can learn new ways to screen students and get the info that I need to do my job well. The students will get the reading help that they need because I will be able to target specific areas of need. Thank you so much for your help with project. It is appreciated so much! This will truly make a difference for my students.”

  • Getting to Our Classroom Supplies Easily with Totes an Fun!

    Funded May 22, 2022

Thank you so much for funding our "Getting to Our Classroom Supplies Easily with Totes and Fun!" project on Donorschoose.org. These items are going to help our classroom to be more accessible, and allow for the students to easily get to their learning materials at the beginning of each class. The totes, letter trays, cabinet shelf organizer rack and other goodies are all going to be placed on or near a nice big bookshelf that I just got, so that students can load them up with all of their wonderful hands-on learning goodies! This will make it very easy for the students to get to everything. And we switch off manipulatives throughout the whole class, so this will make it so much easier. Our sessions will run very efficiently and everything will be in view and ready to grab. Thank you so much for your support. We really appreciate it, and it does truly make a difference for my students.”

  • Stupendous Classroom Supplies for My Students!

    Funded May 15, 2022

Thank you so much for funding our "Stupendous Classroom Supplies for My Students!" project on Donorschoose.org. Oh my goodness, it is absolutely wonderful to have these new learning materials in our hands! I am absolutely thrilled! Our classroom budgets just got cut in half due to a failed referendum and that impacts our students, so this is going to help us out so much for next year! We will be using the three ring binders for take home practice! The students will each feel so special having their own binder full of skills and activities to take home each night. The beautiful cardstock will be used to make fancy practice activities for in the student binders, and for fancy flashcards! The markers will also be used for flashcards and posters. The tray organizers and storage trays will be to hold the students' hands-on learning supplies, so they can quickly and efficiently access everything that they need. I am thrilled to be getting the pencil grips, because so many students need help with holding a pencil correctly, and these work like magic! The kids love them! The bulletin board border will be used to make our classroom look fancy! Thank you so much for supporting my students' learning. I definitely appreciate it. I am so excited about next year, and being able to work with my students, and teaching literacy is my absolute passion!”

  • One In Six Students Struggle With Dyslexia Or Reading Challenges

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so much for funding our "One In Six Students Struggle With Dyslexia Or Reading Challenges" project on Donorschoose.org. This Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement Dyslexia Index is going to be absolutely wonderful. I will be able to read all of the materials over the summer and become very familiar with them. Then, I will be able to begin using it in the fall with students. I look forward to anything that I can get my hands on regarding dyslexia and this is something that I need badly. My passion is helping kids who struggle with reading, and I also love helping kids who do not struggle to get even better at reading! Thank you for supporting my efforts in helping the students in our district to achieve their full potential!”

  • A Shiny New Bookshelf For My Amazing Readers!

    Funded May 3, 2022

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for helping me to get our "A Shiny New Bookshelf For My Amazing Readers!" project funded on Donorschoose.org! I donated the first half, and your match offer funded the second half! Clearly, if I was willing to put that much money towards this bookshelf, it was seriously needed. And, oh my goodness, is it even better than I expected it to be! I LOVE it!!!!! It is so big and holds so many of our important learning materials. Instead of having to jump up many times a session, to grab materials from across the classroom, I am able to just reach back and grab exactly what I need. And, with using 100% hands-on activities, I am reaching a lot! My students are also able to grab their learning materials so much easier now. What a huge time saver! And, being able to save time, means that I get to accomplish even more learning with my students! I am BEYOND thrilled! The bookcase is on wheels, so it is easy to move around to wherever we need it, and it is absolutely beautiful! I couldn't be more happy. Thank you so, so, so, so much for giving us this wonderful gift!”

Thank you so much for funding our "Every Child Deserves the Right to the Best Literacy Instruction!" project on Donorschoose.org." Thank you so much to the Valhalla Foundation for matching the funding on my project! I was able to pay for the first half of the project myself, and your match funded the rest! This CTOPP-2 Assessment is going to be very helpful in allowing me to target what specific reading areas each child needs support with, and this is something that I never would have gotten without your help. I am absolutely thrilled to have this in my my classroom, all ready to go. It will help many students. Your support is appreciated so very, very much!”

  • Creating a Hunger For Knowledge and Reading Practice

    Funded Apr 28, 2022

Thank you so much for funding our "Creating a Hunger For Knowledge and Reading Practice" on Donorschoose.org. I am so excited to have this project funded! Our classroom budgets were just cut in half due to a failed referendum. These Level L, nonfiction, short reads are going to be fantastic, and are definitely needed. They are very good, nonfiction pieces taken from all types sources, including journals, newspaper articles, research papers, pamphlets, nonfiction books and many other sources. They allow my students to read and get comfortable with nonfiction from a variety of sources, which is so very important. These short reads are made with durable, glossy cardstock with beautiful photographs, headings and all of the nonfiction elements that are so important. They are perfect for my small learning groups. What I love best, is that they are leveled according to student ability, so every child can feel success. They allow students to have perfect practice at reading and pulling out key information, author's purpose, main idea, and so many other important text elements. Thank you so much for supporting our class with these wonderful, short reads. We sure appreciate it! These will be used for many years down the road!”
