Sensational Storage for Remarkable Readers!
Funded Dec 10, 2021Thank you so much for funding our "Sensational Storage for Remarkable Readers!" project on Donorschoose.org! This was such a wonderful surprise! I work with students who might struggle with reading or even dyslexia. Being able to work with kids who struggle with literacy has been a passion and dream of mine for so long, and now I get to do it all day long, every day, and it is such a blessing. I want to create a very special learning environment for my students. I want a classroom that is beautiful, inspiring, motivational and functional, and these match up in all four areas. They are so nice. We needed storage for our reading supplies, and these are absolutely perfect! Every day, as my students enter our reading classroom, they need to get their supplies all ready to go. They have a pencil, an eraser, crayons, poetry papers, a mesh screen, letter tiles, printing papers, red word cards, dictation paper, and other supplies. It is so important for us to be organized and ready to go, because I only get a short 30 minutes with each group of students. It is important that we are able to get right down to business without having to dig for supplies. These storage trays help us to keep everything together. And they look absolutely beautiful when they are all put away for the day. Our classroom is black and white plaid with splashes of color here and there, so they really look nice! And, they are very durable to last for years and years to come! I am also thrilled about the bulletin board letters! I want to put the words "Take Time to Be Kind" in a very prominent place in the room, and these letters are absolutely perfect! Thank you so much for funding our project! This, truly, meant so much to us! My students were so excited to open the packages, and so was I. We have all of the totes put in their places and we are using them like crazy already!”

Classroom Basics Bundle: These Are Items That We Really Need
Funded Aug 16, 2021Thank you so much for funding our "Classroom Basics Bundle: These Are Items That We Really Need" project on Donorschoose.org. We appreciate all of these wonderful learning materials so much, and they were so badly needed to start off the school year! Now we are in full swing and everything has come in so handy! The red and green crayons are used to help my students learn read words and to practice letter formation. We needed those so badly and they are getting daily use. I have used the pencil grips like crazy and they have helped me to correct several students' incorrect pencil grasp! I am thrilled that we were even able to correct some 5th graders incorrect grasp, which will help their writing stamina so much. The smelly stickers are wonderful! Every kid loves those so much, and they will work so hard for me just to get a sticker. The stopwatch is fantastic for practicing fluency in a fun way, and the highlighters are something that my students use several times a day to highlight poems, mark off the concepts they have learned, to highlight parts of books and to do syllable division in a super fun way, which we will be learning next week! We use all of these items all of the time, to do basic, everyday activities. Thank you so much for your support!”

Funded Aug 5, 2021Thank you so much for donating to our "Wonderful Sand Trays For Learning Letters and Sounds!" project on Donorschoose.org! Seeing the names and comments from the very special people who supported this project and the anonymous donor's comments really made my heart full. You are all appreciated so much, and I hope that you truly realize what a difference you are making for my students These six sand trays are such an important part of our class each day, and they truly help my learners so much! Every single day, the kids ask, "Do we get to use the sand trays today?" And, I get to say, "Yes, we do!" This always results in a big smile! The sand trays literally make learning so much fun for the kids! Even better than that, working with these sand trays definitely locks in learning, and we have the results to prove it! Forming letters in the sand helps my students with proper penmanship formation, helps them with being more automatic with letter sounds, and allows them to have a manipulative form of learning that really supports their learning of skills happen much faster. We are able to use the sand trays to review previously learned skills and to learn brand new ones. I literally use these trays with 30 kids every single day! So they have already gotten tremendous use. It is very exciting to see that students who might otherwise be reluctant about coming in for extra reading support, truly love coming in, because they get to have fun, and they know that this is helping them to learn. I use these sand trays with kids who struggle, and I also get to use them with kids who do not! The neat thing is that any kid can learn with the sand trays in such a wonderful way because I can use them with very basic skills and with super challenge activities! I brought them out to show to the parents during parent teacher conferences and even they couldn't stop making letters in the colorful sand!
We love these sand trays, and I just really want you to know that all of the items that you have helped us to get are being used on a daily basis, and that they are making a huge difference for my students! Magical Magical Poof! a Magic E-Wand for my First-Graders!
Funded Jul 15, 2021Thank you so much for funding our "Magical Magical Poof! a Magic E-Wand for my First-Graders!" project on Donorschoose.org. We are already using these items like crazy, and they make our classroom so much fun! As you know, I LOVE to make learning to read an extra special experience for my students, and these goodies have definitely helped with that! My students absolutely love the magic wand for learning to read their Magic E words! My little kindergarteners, all the way up to my big fifth-graders get such a kick out of using this magic wand to practice their words. They specifically ask for it everytime we work on these words, and they each have to take a turn with making the words sparkle! The wand really helps to lock in learning for students who might otherwise struggle with these words quite a bit. This wand truly has magic of the very best kind, and we appreciate it! The colorful tiles are also wonderful! We use them to practice phoneme awareness, and this really helps with breaking down and sounding out words. Having these hands on manipulatives to practice with makes such a difference for my learners. I put fancy ribbons on the pitchers that we got, and they look so pretty storing our colorful, letter formation sand, which we also use every single day with our sand trays. The syllable division book, and morpheme cards packs help us learn new words, and are especially great with the older kids.
It is so exciting to be working with all of these students who struggle with reading and/ or dyslexia. I truly feel like this is making such a difference. Many of these kids have struggled with reading for years and years. and I can see their abilities going up every single day. Even better than that, they can see that they are improving, and reading things that they were never able to read before! It is so wonderful to see kids who came in reluctant or even disliking reading, having a total turn around. These kids are now reading because they WANT to, and this is so special, because every child deserves to have the opportunity to read. One of my little students said that she read during her entire Thanksgiving break, and she was so proud! This made my heart so happy!
I truly want my students to be so excited to come into my class, and they are with these new learning goodies. Thank you so much for helping that to happen. We truly see magic in this room every single day, and I love it so much! You have truly made a difference for my students.”

This is my very first year as an interventionist. After many years of training and hard work, I now get to devote my entire day to helping students who struggle with reading and dyslexia! I LOVE it soooo much! I wanted my students' classroom to be absolutely beautiful, comfortable and inviting! I wanted it to be perfect for all of my students, and I wanted it to be something very special! This is exactly how it turned out thanks to you and your amazing support! The kids love it! I love it! And, we seriously can not wait to get in there to learn each day! Funded Aug 2, 2021Thank you so much for funding our "Classroom Basics! Let's Learn to Read and Write!" project on Donorschoose.org. How exciting to see this completely funded! I really didn't think we would get these supplies, and we need them so badly. We will definitely use every single thing! The kids are going to LOVE the smelly stickers! We do so many fun things with them, and these are really, nice big packs. The pencil grips will be fantastic. They are the one thing that really work well with teaching students how to hold a pencil correctly, and they love to use them. The crayons and highlighters are for doing our Orton Gillingham reading work. We write green and red words and we highlight poems, and highlight our phoneme/grapheme charts. We also use them to do a really fun activity with breaking words into syllables. We sing a song while we do it and the kids grin from ear to ear when I give them the highlighters. The erasers are needed badly. We will be well supplied now! And the post-its are for so many different activities, like marking pages in books that we love or want to share, writing little notes, and doing fun, little drawing activities. The stopwatch is also going to be fantastic for checking our fluency and doing timed activities. I can't even begin to tell you how very much I appreciate all of these classroom basics. My students will have a great year with these new learning supplies. Thank you very, very much for your support!”

They were definitely a big need because I am going to be working exclusively with students who struggle with reading this year. These phoneme grapheme cards and the blending board are the single most important tool for our lessons. I will be using them all day, every single day and for many years to come. There is nothing better than helping a student who is struggling with reading, learn to read. Seeing them fall in love with literacy is truly, so very special, and it is life-changing for them! Sensational Sand Fun for Learning our Letter Sounds!
Funded May 4, 2021The super fun weighted sand came in, and are the kids ever having a ball with it! Thank you so much for supporting our "Sensational Sand Fun for Learning our Letter Sounds!" project on Donorschoose.org! This was a super special project because this sand is something that we will use every single day in our classroom! It goes along with my Orton-Gillingham training and is meant for use with my struggling readers, but boy does it work great with all of my readers! They LOVE it!
The kids had an absolute ball trying to guess what was inside of the super, heavy box. It was a medium sized box, but it weighed over 10 lbs. They lifted it over and over and guessed all kinds of different things! But, when we opened it, were they ever excited! They love this special sand. We had one teeny, tiny pack before that we took turns with, and now we have enough for everyone to use!
We use this sand for writing letters, words, and for writing digraphs. It is perfect because it is two-toned and weighted, so the two different colors separate while writing, which really increases the multi-sensory experience and locks in learning in a super fun way! The kids really remember what I teach them when I use this sand well. They will have a ball learning with this colored, weighted sand for years to come. It will help me to help so many kids learn to read! Thank you so much for support! Our classroom is a great place to learn because of you and we really appreciate it!”

Funded May 4, 2021Thank you so much for funding our "Student Storage for Orton-Gillingham Card Pack Fun While Reading!" project on Donorschoose.org! The storage trays came in and they are even more wonderful than I expected! They are the perfect size for our cards, they are nice and sturdy, and they look really nice and organized in our classroom!
The kids were so excited to get the huge package! They had a lot of fun trying to guess what was inside. They were super excited to see how nicely their sound cards fit into each of the areas of the containers. And, the best part is that the fourth section of each one can be used for their reading supplies like their red and green crayon, their pencil and eraser, their little colored chips, and their weekly, super special object.
These storage containers are just perfect and I couldn't have gotten them without your help and support! Thank you so much for being so kind to our class. We appreciate you more than you could ever know. Many of my students came in struggling with reading at the beginning of the year due to so many factors, and with your help and support, and their hard work, they are leaving my class, so far ahead! I am super proud of each of them! Thank you very, very much for being there for us! You truly impacted their learning in such a positive way.”
