Kindergartners should learn how to hold a pencil and practice forming letters by writing their names, which gives them practice writing letters, shaping and spacing letters correctly, and writing from left to right. We use white boards almost daily in our classroom not only to practice writing but also in Math. During the COVID-19 pandemic and making sure that each child has their own supplies has been tough. I have had borrow whiteboards from other teachers so that I have enough for each child. They are showing their age and now are really scratched. Also, I am hoping that by asking for a small amount of Boogie Boards we could try using them in a small group setting so they will be able to practice their writing with a teacher. By donating to my project, you will be helping us by providing supplies that will help provide opportunities to engage children in meaning making using multiple modes of communication. I also believe in Art in the classroom and this seems to be one of their favorite days, Art Day. Art gives each individual student a means for expressing his/her self. I love to let my students paint using different techniques. Art can be a fun way of learning other skills such as math, language skills, spatial relationships, patterns, small motor skills, and so much more.
