  • Technology in the Classroom

    Funded Jun 5, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom. The headphones will help each child be able to focus on their work without the distraction of other children working in small groups. The kinetic sand will be used in small groups for phonic instruction as well as for an incentive/ indoor recess time. My students work so hard during the day so this will be a special treat. All these special things like earbuds and kinetic sand may seem simple but mean so much to my students. I am happy to be able to give them these to use daily. You are awesome and appreciated.”

  • Organized and Ready to Learn

    Funded May 23, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity sent my and my students ways. These items will surely help our classroom run smoothly as we end this year and begin next. The colorful dry erase markers will help the kids be engaged with our small group work that we do on white boards. The colorful folders will help keep all of the papers organized and neat. My favorite item is the pencil holders though, those will be so helpful to ensure that each student has a pencil ready for their work and will help stop them from rolling onto the floor. Thank you again for your kindness towards my students and classroom.”

  • Exercising Minds and Bodies

    Funded Apr 23, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations. The class was so excited to receive the many items! As soon as the packages arrived we opened them up and the kids were enjoying them outside. They especially loved the balls and the velcro ball catch games.

The chalk has come in handy for a few things already. Of course at recess they have been drawing away but also during math time we have been reviewing facts with them outside. It has gotten quite warm in North Carolina so I have been trying to get us outside and learning to give us some variety. Thank you for helping make my class feel excited and motivated as we end the year.”

  • Nourishing Bodies and Minds

    Funded Apr 22, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity towards my class. They were so excited to see the items come into the room and even more so to enjoy them. They have come in handy as we prepare for testing and these snacks provided much needed extra energy. We will also use some snacks after our end of year testing as our schedules are different and they deserve some extra treats.

The koosh style ball has been welcomed highly into our classroom. We have been using it for recess but also in the classroom for some math review. The students sit on their desks and I say a multiplication fact/ show flash card and the ball is passed from student to student. Who ever has the ball when I say has to answer the math fact or is it. I love how excited the kids are for this fun review style game.”

  • Hands-On Phonics

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

Thank you so much for the generous donations to our classroom. These materials are going to make learning and practicing phonics so much more hands on. The sand and trays we will practice writing letters and words. We will use the whiteboards as well for this and for small groups as well. I love using whiteboards whole group too! I have the students write their answers and then hold them up when I count to 3. This helps me be able to quickly see who has got the skill and who I need to work with while just taking a quick glance. The erasers also help so we can quickly clear any work and move on to the next problem. Thank you for helping strengthen my students phonics skills so they can become even stronger readers!”

  • Help Me Give My Students the Write Stuff!

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

Thank you so much for the generation donation. These materials have helped my class have needed materials within arm reach to help us stay focused on instruction. It may seem silly but the kids love freshly sharpened pencils and it has been so nice to not have to stop class during instruction to sharpen more. The mechanical pencils will be used as incentives as we move into test prep time. The toothbrush holders are useful so that each student can keep a few sharpened pencils in there to access whenever needed. Also the tissues..,.. "Bless You" allergy season is strong here in North Carolina so those are greatly appreciated as well.”

  • Girls Who Love Reading

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you for the generous donation. As soon as I opened the boxes the class was so excited to dig into these new books. We have a designated 30 minutes of independent reading time daily and these books have helped keep the students focused during this time. Students can't wait to finish one to move on to the next. Most of the popular books in our classroom library were read several times already so these were even more special. I already have 2 students who are hooked on the Babysitter Club series now and several books in.”

  • Titles at Their Fingertips!

    Funded May 11, 2022

Thank you so much for helping to provide my students with this resource. We have been using it all year and I can see the impact it has had on my students. We work it into our end of the day routine weekly. The students have enjoyed the variety of titles they can choose from and also that they can listen to the story before they actually read it themselves. The pictures and other text features also make it kid friendly.

As a teacher I enjoy the data it provides me. I can tell what books they are reading and the progress they are making by looking at the skills touched on in the quizzes. I like that it is holding my students accountable for their reading and also helps prepare them for our end of year state exams that also contain multiple choice questions on the same skills. Thank you again for allowing my students and me this opportunity.”

  • Getting Kids Outside Playing and Learning

    Funded Jan 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous contributions. My students have been LOVING our new recess equipment.

To see the kids interact with each other and play again after the pandemic the past few years is so heartwarming. Some of their favorite things to do are use the chalk, play frisbee and basketball.

These materials have also been helpful and let me be creative and have learning more fun. For example we were able to take our fraction unit outside one day and draw number lines in chalk and then students would stand on different places to represent different fractions. The kids loved this and are still talking about it! Thank you for helping make these memories for my students.”

  • Can You Hear Me?

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

Thank you so much for donating towards headphones for my class. Having the class set has made a significant difference in our daily routines and the children love them! They were so excited to receive these gifts and couldn't wait to use them.

In 3rd grade we have several fun learning programs that the students can use to expand their skills and having these headphones allows more children to use them at a time.

One student, "A" especially has benefitted from these headphones. He just recently joined our class from Honduras. He has been able to use the headphones for programs such as Rosetta Stone to learn english and also he is able to use them to translate what we are learning easier.

Thank you again for your generosity and adding to our classroom!”

My classroom is full of eager and diverse students. They come from a variety of backgrounds but one thing they have in common is they love learning. Having the chance to have hands-on experience with technology and activities, that they may not have the chance to at home will help set them up for experiences throughout their high school and college years.
