E Z as A-Z
Funded Jan 27, 2017The subscription to Learning A-Z has been an amazing tool to help our students. Teachers have completed the professional developments on the website to be able to use every aspect of this program and they LOVE it. "This is an amazing program that is so easy to use and has great material to use for the kids" said one teacher. This is what has been missing for so many teachers in their classrooms.
There are a variety of reading levels in one class so for a teacher to have access to ALL levels from pre-primer to Level Z is a great way for them to accommodate the students who need extra help or to challenge those students who need it.
We can not thank you enough for giving this gift to us to be able to afford our students better learning experiences by giving them material on their own reading level.”

Looking for Stars
Funded Aug 25, 2016Students in our school like motivators. Last year I paid for all rewards myself so I usually bought candy and pencils and erasers. This year they have the opportunity for more choices for rewards for their efforts. I am so happy for them to be able to pick something from the prize baskets that they will enjoy after working hard all week. The students get rewards for being player of the week in a math program we purchased online.
Many students are excited to hear their name called over the loud speaker and like getting a reward. I am hoping that this will encourage other students in their class to strive more to hear their name the following week.
The students had wide eyes when they saw the selection and some of them had a difficult time choosing ONE prize. I told them to keep working hard and maybe they will get called again and can get that second prize they were eyeing up.
I record the player of the week once every week and call names over the loud speaker at the end of the day. This is something I started last year for the students in order to recognize their hard work. I will continue to do this throughout the year. We have also purchased a reading program. I am waiting for training to be able to implement this in the school. I will also give rewards for top readers.
We appreciate your kind gift for our students. It shows them that people care about how well they do in school. Thank you.”

Funded Dec 2, 2015I can not tell you how much I appreciate your help with donating items to my computer lab. The most important item to me is the mouse pads and mice. The students had mice that would not work so they could not navigate on the computers. In this instance, they had to work with another student and share a computer. Now they each can work on their own computer to have a maximized experience in the lab. They love being able to do their own work.
The mouse pads are important because as the younger grades come in, they do not know how to use the mouse properly and are wild all over the table with the mouse. Now that they have mouse pads, they are better able to control where the mouse goes and to use it properly. It also helps that the Mouse pads have cute little kitties on them. The ooooooo and ahhhhhhhs are always amazing to hear.
The speakers are important because when I do whole group lessons with a group of 30, they kids in the back of the room cant always hear from the speakers that are built into the laptop. This gives EVERY student an opportunity to hear the information equally.
You have made the tech lab more efficient to learning for over 400 students. It has already made a huge difference in how the students view the lab. They are excited to come and be able to work independently.
THANK YOU,”

Learning on the Go
Funded Aug 4, 2014It was so incredibly generous of you to donate supplies to my classroom. Everything has made an impact in my room. The iPad has increased student participation. We play ESL games and watch online story books on the iPad. The folders and books help to keep us all organized. We write our new words lists and class work in our books and keep our worksheets in our folders. This will allow us to see out progress from the beginning until the end of the year. We are learning English better by using our translation books too. We are very grateful for your kindness.”

A Set Ahead
Funded Dec 20, 2011THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can not begin to tell you the joy on the faces of my students as the boxes of books were delivered. Once I opened the boxes the excitement that filled the air was incredible. They can not wait to get their hands on the books. They loved all of the titles I picked and ooooo ed and ahhhhh ed as I read the titles of the books that were in the boxes. One child hugged Charlotte's Web when I took it out of the box. These books will bring us through the year with no problem. You all have made that happen.
They were disappointed to learn that the books were guided reading books but have been begging me to take their groups out of turn. I love how excited they are about the books. I have also heard them talking amongst themselves about which books they can't wait to read.
They were genuinely touched at the kindness of others to help them. I think that this experience will bring them more than just books. I think that they have learned the kindness of strangers while feeling that they are special. My hope is that they will remember this for their entire life and pay it forward when they grow into adults.
Thank you again and again and again. Well wishes to you.”

Listen Up!
Funded Mar 24, 2010I am truly grateful for your generosity. These kinds of actions never cease to amaze me. It is wonderful that you understand the importance of education and have chosen to assist us in obtaining materials to enrich our classroom.
The materials you have chosen to provide us with will allow my students to have a more enriching experience during reading time. It will also assist my students with learning disabilities in order to have access to books on tape.
My students were very disappointed when we were unable to hear stories on tape anymore so I can not wait to tell them and show them our new system. They will be so excited. Thank you again and please continue to support education. It is appreciated more than any words could ever express.”
