Some of these materials will be used to practice math concretely before the students move to the abstract. Many of my students are missing the "why" of math. The "why" is important to transferring one math skill to other math skills. The objective is for automaticity in math just like there is for reading. The card stock, LED bulbs, and batteries will be used by the students to create circuitry projects. The Lego set is to inspire students to use their imaginations to create something tangible. The ultimate objective for all items is to have a balance between hands-on and digital technology.
