Kindergarten Love
Funded Aug 17, 2022We cannot thank you enough for supporting my kindergarten classroom and students.
You have helped restore organization in the classroom that is easy for the kids to utilize and find the materials that they need more independently. The cube organization system, bins, and iPad charging stations has allowed me to be able to work with small groups more often because the students can get the materials they need themselves. In small groups, we have utilized the Alphabet Locks and Magnetic letters to reinforce letter sounds and simple CVC words in fun, hands-on ways. We use the pencil pouches to hold our math materials in our desks without losing them.
The students were ecstatic to receive the materials and even more excited to begin using them. The excitement continues as we are able to use the materials in different ways as our learning continues to build upon what we already know. The students cannot wait to use the materials and get so excited each time I pull them out or when they are able to get things themselves.”

Funded Feb 12, 2020We cannot thank you enough for your donations to our classroom project. Your generosity has allowed coding to come to life in our classroom. We are able to use the coding games with our classroom Osmos. My students love this game and use problem solving skills while learning. Any chance my students get, they ask to use the Osmos, and during this time they are using the Coding Awbie game. It is also great to see them working together to solve the coding problems presented to them.
My students were so excited when I told them that I had a new games for the Osmos. They got even more excited as I walked them through what the game looks like and what they will need to do to help solve Awbie's problems. It is so fun watching them try new solutions to problems.
Coding helps children with math, writing, communication, creativity, and confidence. We will continue to use our Osmos and the Coding Awbie game during free choice activities and math centers.”

Funded Jan 29, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donations have given my students a new hands-on technology experience, that most have never seen. They ask to use our Osmos any chance they get.
The Osmos have helped reinforce and expand their learning in such creative and engaging ways. They have made my students even more anxious to expand their learning and explore, while using technology. They love solving the problems presented to them and watching their hand-on materials come to life right in front of them. We use the Osmos in both reading and math. These new tools and materials have aided in pushing my students to think harder and problem solve. What makes it great is that my students do not realize they are even learning.
Thanks to your help, my students have found a new love for learning and technology. Thank you for allowing my students to be pushed and watch their learning come to life.”

Mrs. Larsen
Flex for Success!
Funded Aug 14, 2019Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to my classroom. Your donation was used to obtain flexible seating options in my classroom. The flexible seating that I was able to purchase included wobble chairs and floor cushion seats. I have been doing a lot of research on the benefits of flexible seating and the new seats have been a great addition for my students. I was able to give them ten different seating options, in addition to what I already have.
The flexible seating options have provided my students with different ways to sit and work. It seemed like we were in a rut when it came to seat work and tasks. They now get to choose what works best for them. I have noticed a huge difference with student time on task because they are able to choose and be comfortable. They enjoy working this year and it is evident with the smiles on their faces.
Without Donors like You, my classroom would not be able to do flexible seating.”

Funded May 9, 2013Your donation has open many doors to the use of technology in our Kindergarten classroom. My students are continuously asking to utilize the iPad during learning time. They looking forward to all the great educational games/Apps that they are able to interact with. My students eyes light up when I get the iPad out and discuss what we are doing to be doing with it each day.
Our iPad is utilized throughout the school day in all academic areas. We use the iPad individually and in small group settings to work on personal academic goals. I am also using the iPad as an assessment tool to show student growth. I teach mini lessons to my students and then we break off into learning communities. Each community is able to work with me on areas of need and utilize the iPad by using Apps that are designed to fit specific academic subjects and areas of learning. The iPad has also assisted many of my students in Special Education, by providing a different type of fine motor activity, as they use their finger to move objects and work on handwriting skills; where paper and pencil activities become too difficult for them. We have also been using the iPad during writing time for students that struggle with handwriting. My students have been creating illustrations and are recording themselves as they verbalize their stories. Now, every student is able to publish some sort of writing and story in the classroom be it on paper, or on the iPad.
This project has allowed all my students to gain a new understanding of how technology can be used in the classroom. It has shown me that technology can assist in boosting students love for learning. All of my students are enjoying learning, yet they do not realize they are learning as they interact with the iPad. It is always a pleasure to hear my students ask if they can finish their educational game on the iPad or wonder when it is their turn. This shows their enjoyment for what we are doing in the classroom and their love for learning. I have also seen greater academic gains in my students progress as they school year goes on. I cannot wait to continue to use the iPad in our classroom and to see what new knowledge we can learn and what new ways we can utilize our wonderful project that you so thoughtfully donated to. Thank you from the bottom of all of hearts!”
