  • We're Electric

    Funded Nov 21, 2016

My students were so happy to get the construction paper and sharpeners! We will never run out of pencils now. My students now get to use sharp pencils for every project or activity they do. They also get to display their work on bright construction paper which is posted onto bulletin boards in the hallway and in the classroom.

When the pencil sharpeners first arrived, my students couldn't wait to sharpen their colored pencils so they could use them to publish their writing. Now students have an array of colored pencils to choose from. Students also made writing folders with the colored construction paper that was donated.

In the future, I'd love for my students to have a bigger library and choice of books to choose from. Stay tuned for more donors choose projects and thank you so much for being a supporter of my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antin

  • Education and Friendships on the Rug

    Funded Feb 4, 2016

The rug has been an amazing resource for our classroom. Many activities are conducted on the rug. All mini-lessons take place on the rug where students learn and participate in lessons. Students also read books from the library on the rug, play games from centers on the rug, are able to see the SmartBoard, and most importantly, are building everlasting friendships.

The children were so excited about the rug. Many claimed that without a rug that they would have to sit on a cold, hard floor. They love the fact that they each get to sit on their own colored circle.

Thank you for generous contributions to my classroom. Without your support, I couldn't achieve the goals I set forth this year to teach students. You helped me educate the children and build true friendships among students that will last forever. Stay tuned for more projects!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antin

  • Making Friendships That Last Forever

    Funded Nov 14, 2015

The children in this class have a love for arts. They love choosing the writing center and making cards and letters for others. They can't get enough of the stickers, gel pens, glue pens and decorations in the writing center box. Also, the children love playdoh. The materials you funded helped me to meet the children's desires and loves. When the students first saw all the materials come out of the box, they were jumping up and down. They couldn't wait to use every single supply. The children not only get to use these supplies, but they also get to work alongside their friends and form relationships that may last forever. I'd like to start another project to fund more of these supplies as they are quickly being used by eager students. Stay tuned for more projects and thank you so much for your support with this project.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antin

  • Togetherness on the Rug

    Funded Aug 19, 2014

My class wrote you beautiful letters stating all the ways they use the rug that you donated. We brainstormed all the ways we use the rug and came up with so many ways. The rug is so important to our learning and communication. We use the rug for learning our alphabet, doing mini-lessons, playing games, listening to stories, keeping us off the cold floor, spending time with our friends, singing, dancing, and a myriad of many other educational activities.

The students are so grateful for this donation. It is hard for a kindergarten student to understand what a donation is, but after explaining to them what you wonderful people did, they got the gist and wrote you beautiful thank you letters. The rug has helped my teaching so much. It has allowed me to have a place to conduct my mini-lessons and have the students spend time reading and playing games. Also, the students develop excellent social skills by sitting together on the rug and sharing space.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Antin

I teach kindergarten in a diverse school. I like to teach my students using a balanced literacy program. A rug affords me the opportunity to work with my class in whole groups as I teach a mini-lesson and in small groups when students go back to their own seats to work independently. Also, at center time, children can actively engage in educational learning centers on the rug instead of on the floor.
